She survived the Nazis. She built a family, a business, and a home. Before she died a year ago, Fania Wedro asked me to fight those who would tear this country down.
Fanny, your memory is the blessing I carried into our House of Commons, in my inaugural speech, and in every day since. And with it, amid the gathering darkness, a promise to keep:
We will be the light. We will cherish and respect this country. And we will restore the promise of Canada, for you.
