Amiga Disk Repair: Tape Eraser Restores Bad Floppies

This is a simple little process that has worked in many cases for me over the years to make failed floppy disk's work again. With the use of a Radio Shack audio / video tape eraser I have given extended life to both 3.5" and 5.25" floppy disks. But if you’re not careful you can make an already failing disk become nothing more than a useless floppy.

Thank you for the positive feedback and that is too funny and very cool on the double likes! Please feel free to tell others to follow us too if you feel so inclined. ;) I really have had good luck with this technique, and even back in the 90's when folks would return disk's they bought the Radio Shack stores I worked at, I would then do this to salvage the bad disk(s) and take the whole return home as Tandy would write it off.

Good question, it is based on a lot of factors from the quality of the original media to enviorment, but disk's I have done this to in the past few years are still working just fine currently.
