Amika Blow Dryer Brush vs Revlon One Step | What Should You Buy?

Hey youtube fam! So a little while ago, I purchased the Amika Blow Dryer as part of my Sephora Haul for a whopping $100. Curiosity took over, and I had to know whether I had just wasted all my money or whether it was actually any better than the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer that has been dominating the market. Clearly I didn't know how to pronounce Amika so I was sure to say it both ways to be sure😅 Have you guys tried the Amika? What do you think?

Just a recommendation, always finish your blowout with the cool setting to avoid the frizziness you were left with on both sides.

Another huge perk to the Amika is that it’s cruelty free! The bristles on the revlon are boar bristles and the bristles on Amika are synthetic.

Thanks for sharing that! Are there any other blow dryer brushes that are truly cruelty free but under the budget.. the amika one is way over my head 😅

@@iqraa6818 The Revlon, Bedhead, Drybar and L'ange le volume dryer brushes all have boar bristles, unfortunately. This leaves the Amika, which costs almost twice as much as the Revlon. If anyone knows another vegan option, I would love to know it...

I had the Revlon and it literally smoked the entire time I used it and almost caused the smoke detectors to go off in the house. I have since tossed it and replaced it with the Amika one. I absolutely love the Amika one!! Worth every cent!

That and I am absolutely obsessed with Amika products. Been using their hair care for 2 years but never owned their hair tools before. I’ve always used Chi tools.

I have read SO many reviews of people saying the Amika blow dry brush died after just a few months of use and then when they received a replacement- the same thing happened. Such a bummer because it does seem like a beautiful product!

I just got the revlon one last night and I called my salon at noon to have them hold the Amika brush they sell... because I wanted salon quality,,, after watching this clip I am glad I did it; 😁

Amika is also the winner cause they don't have boar bristles thus cruelty-free vegan.. HUGE WIN!!! with today's technology/alternatives, not sure why humans are still exploiting/abusing animals, especially for such things as beauty tools. So discouraging to say the least =( Not all Amika products are vegan but they are all cruelty free which doesn't really make sense but anyway, at least they are better than many other brands and hopefully they'll get there soon.

I have the revlon brush and 100% agree it’s really loud and bothersome. Personally the revlon brush feels heavy to me so kinda bummed to hear amika might be a bit heavier.

nat very slight difference. I’m able to do my whole head without my arm feeling tired. And I agree! It hurt my ears 🙈

I use Pureology. It's pricey but you don't use alot. But Amika the wizard is fantastic also a great option. It's a detangler and primer with heat protectant. Keratherapy daily smoothing cream which is heat activated is really good too.

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing this informative video!! 💗 but aren’t there any other cruelty free blow dry brushes?! I just spent my money on revlon just to find out it’s got boar bristles 🙁 I can’t spend more than 50 again on a brush.. please help 💕

Loved the review! Would you recommend the Amika blow dryer for people with reaaaaaallyyyyyyyy straight hair? I need something yo give my hair more texture. It's been half a year since I last went to the hairdresser and my hair have 0 layers by now, so it all falls like a waterfall. BTW, I just checked your singing videos and you have such an amazing and powerful voice!

This video gave me anxiety. That is not how you are supposed to use the brushes. That’s why the top is so frizzy. Def check out other reviews. I clicked on this video for Amika. Btw the Revlon works great.
