This is an open-air concert on July 12, 2014, in the Vrijthof square in Maastricht, which is in the Limburg province of The Netherlands. Amira's performance was the first item after the interval. She sang the aria twice, by the way.

Great reaction, MP! Although Amira took to the stage at just 10 years old, she was already a superstar classical singer. The year before, at the age of 9, she won Holland1s Got Talent singing only classical songs. Her videos on the internet already exceeded tens of millions of views each. She had already signed a contract with the prestigious Sony Masterworks label. She had already won a gold record and had already become the youngest soprano to reach number one on classical music radio in Europe. She had already set up her own charitable foundation, to which she still donates half of everything she earns and uses it to help poor children in Africa. Amira had already built a playground in a poor school in South Africa. She had already been featured in major newspapers. The American CNN had already made a program just about her. It was with this status that Amira took to Maestro André Rieu's stage. This video and its many copies have been watched by hundreds of millions. The DVD of the concert is sold out. The second edition sold out. At the end of the year of this concert, Amira went to Vatican City to receive the Humanitarian of the Year award. And so, 10 years ago, Amira was already on her way to becoming the most popular super soprano of all time.

Amira's operatic singing voice is beautiful and beyond amazing. She won the sixth season of "Holland's Got Talent" in 2013, when she was 9 years old. One of the judges, Dan Karaty, even bowed before her. Please try her Amira Willighagen "O Sole Mio" duet with the famous bariton Patrizio Buanne.

"O mio babbino caro" is a soprano aria from the opera Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini. It is literally a teenaged girl throwing a temper tantrum at her father who disapproves of her boyfriend.

This performance was in 2014 when Amira was ten years ago, Amira is not one of "those kids of today" as you say, she Is now 20 years old. Emma's performance with Rieu was 9 months ago. Amira was singing like this long before Emma.

Great reaction. And yes, Amira Willighagen had already this particular effect on people, when she was ten years old, at the time of this concert in Maastricht, Netherlands. She sang an aria from an Italian opera by Puccini. Now she's 20 years old, continues to sing better and better, and she has still the same effect... You could react to many of her performances on You Tube, all of them are absolutely flawless, some are out of this world...

Did it really take you 10 years to find Amira? Ten years after her HGT audition she returned to take part in HGT All Stars. See Ebben? ne Andro Lontana. See the video with introduction. You have a lot of catching to do; hope you stay with her.

Amira is the best! This concert takes place in Andre 's home town of Maastricht, in the Netherlands every year. The stage facade is fibreglass and just erected for the show. Amira is singing this in Italian, because it's an Italian opera. She is Dutch, but will sing in any language required - Swedish, Spanish, French, English. There are a stack of videos of her wowing audiences, on YT . You can hear her introduce herself to the world if you watch her Hollands got talent audition. You'll need subtitles though, as it's in Dutch. She is 20 now and still singing, while studying music at university in South Africa. Please explore further...
