She does surprise when people first encounter her. Her career started at age 9 when she auditioned for Hollands got talent, she is Dutch. She sang O Mio babinno Caro. In Italian. This one, Nella Fantasia is in Italian too. She doesn't speak Italian, but she sings it a lot because it's the language of opera. Her mother is from South Africa which is how she has ended up there. Another video that might make you cry, is her singing O Mio Babinno Caro with Andre Rieu. It certainly had that effect on a lot of audience members.

I’m in my 70s and I too find myself with a rear in my eye, jaw hanging open and laughing all at the same time. Just love this little girl, although not so little any more. It’s always a joy to see somebody’s first reaction to her talent.

The opening is a separate song from a movie. The main song was originally done by Sarah Brightman. Amira was born in the Netherland in March 2004. She is now 18 as of March 2022. She won "Holland's got Talent" in 2013. She did three songs, her audition, "o Mio Bambino Caro" in October, Ava Maria on her semi-final on Dec. 21, 2013, and Nessum Dorma at her final at Dec. 28, 2013. Her maternal grandfather sang opera, although I don't think that Amira was aware of that since had died. She began singing operatic style songs at age 7 and studied You Tube for opera arias without a vocal teacher prior to her entering the " Holland's Got Talent contest.. She did study with a teach after she won Holland's Got Talent.. Her family is musical,. Her brother and her mother play the violin. Her father plays the organ , and piano in his church. Amira sang with the Dutch conductor Andre Rieu in the summer of 2014. She toured for a while around 2015 when not in school. She sang in major concerts in South Africa. Her mother was from South Africa.. In January 2018, she, her brother, and her mother moved to her mother's home city in South Africa. Amira started a foundation to fund school playground equipment for poor children in South Africa. . There are at least 18 such playgrounds now. You can find her songs on her website. From her audition onward, she has been in control of her voice and and her nerves. "when you Wish Upon A Star" is one of her more recent songs. IT is song slowly with a lot of control. It is quite pretty.

There are female singers all over the world who are good at singing, but even among them, Amira is not a singer created by humans. People are fascinated and get goosebumps and shed tears. Amira is special.

After watching this video at least a hundred times, I shill get chills and goose bumps hearing this again. You have just grabbed a tiger by the tail. All of her performances are above expectations.

She sings like an angel ,that she is.She also donates proceeds to build parks a and playground equipment for the children of South Africa,where she lives an amazing person.

Dear people, Amina was 9 years old and was the winner of Holland Got Talent, she learned to sing opera from RU-vid herself, it was really fantastic. She has now migrated to South Africa with her mother and brother her mother is of South African descent her father Amina and her brother are of Dutch descent she is now 18 years old and still sings fantastic

Go back 5 months in the same year and react to her Duet of O Sole Mio with Patrizio Buanne, a highly experienced Neapolitan baritone some 26 years her senior. His reaction when she starts singing perfectly exemplifies how Amira effects almost everyone who hears her perform. Amira is 12 during this performance also. The videos of this performance appears on Facebook as well as you tube and has over several hundred million views. Not bad for a relatively unknown at the time 12 year old. Astonishing voice, control and resonance. Amira started singing around age 7 but never had a lesson until after her audition at Hollands got Talent in 2013 at the age of 9 which she won in 2013. Shhe won the Holland got Talent show at the age of 9, her audition with English subs can be found on youtube. There is a lot to find of her, I must say "Amazing Grace" and "your love" are beauties.

Every time I hear her again, I ask "How". Its the voice, isn't it. I keep listening to her over and over again. Its always so beautiful and inspiring. What a unique human being. Keep listening, you will never get tired. This same year she sang, Amazing Grace and In the Stars. Both moving songs.

Great reaction! I loved your surprise, or perhaps shock, at her voice and her magnificent stage presence! It is interesting to note that, to my eye, she had this same stage presence in her audition at 9 years old in the Holland's Got Talent competition, the first time on TV in front of a large audience. In an interview around that time she wondered what the fuss was, as she said 'It's just singing'. But while I love her singing and stage presence, what I appreciate most is her humility and her desire to help others less fortunate. She used part of the money from winning HGT at that young age to start her charitable foundation. The goal of the foundation at that time was to build playgrounds for children in South Africa who had nowhere to play.

Detrucci. Amira moved to SA and although she speaks Afrikaans fluently, this was in Italian. Originally composed by Ennio Morricone the words were composed by Chiara Ferrau. She is Dutch but also speaks English fluently and has sung in around 11 languages. She is 18 now and you might like some of her more recent songs and arias. Enjoyed your Reaction.

Amira was on tv for the first time in 2009 in Holland got talent. She never took singing lessons until that event, she just learned singing by hearing it and practicing. Found her a couple years ago and just wow!!! BTW, she gives a large portion of her earnings to her charity Gelukskinders which builds playgrounds for children in South Africa. I would strongly suggest for you to start of your next step with watching her Hollands got talent English subtitles versions. Starting with her first of course. Do them in order and they are only 3 videos btw. Then do the adre riue video she did about a year later. She sings the same song in the first video and in the last one with Andre. The difference and improvement is astonishing. As was her first performance, when at that time she had no formal training whatsoever. She had a few master class lessons before her second Hollands Got talent session, and the difference is mind boggling good. In fact her second and third Got talent versions of those songs are still my all time favourites. And btw. She was only 9 years old at the time and just as poised and calm. Remarkably so. Ennio Morricone wrote this music and Sarah Brightman wrote the words and sang and recorded the original. The last note in Amira`s performance was trance scribed up to C6 (high C). Brightman, is a Mezzo Soprano. It is early, but I think Amira is a Lyric Soprano. A favorite of mine is the Bambino Caro 2016 in Poland. Yes this is in South Africa but she was singing in Italian .... she starting singing at about 7 ish but won Hollands got talent at 9 at that point with no vocal coaching . You should find the footage from HGT ... it will blow you away .... she is stunning !!
