I am a 37 year old man in Texas and this child has me crying like a baby. Such poise and presence from a small stature. The voice? As if heaven itself opened up for a glimpse and shared its sounds with mankind. This is true god given talent and grace.

The girl's backstage expression at 2:00 is probably the best 'well we're not going to win today' look I've ever seen. Amazing performance.

After watching this like a 1000 times, it is still unbelievable.

I am not an emotional person by nature nor am I an opera fan but this performance brings tears to my eye every time I watch it.

This was the last video my wife and I watched together shortly before she died of AML, I will watch this as long as I live.

THE best first audition EVER. My absolute favourite rendition of this beautiful song. At only 9 years old!!!! Incredible. I must have listened to this nearly a hundred times over the past few years. This girl is very, very special.

I don't know if anybody agrees with me on this, but what amazes me is this young angel acts so humble and has no idea of just how good, no great she really is.

Found this jewel just this morning August 18, 2021. Flushed my eyes with tears. Sent it out to several friends. Now sitting in a restaurant having breakfast, reading the comments. It is awkward to eat when you're on the verge of crying just reading the wonderful comments. Truly the best, most evocative things I've ever seen and heard. I'm almost 67 and I'm wondering if repeated viewings of this would clear up any heart related health issues. Surely it must! It melted my heart

One of the greatest performances by any child.

It's not just that she's a wonderful singer, because there are many. But this performance... It's like she has lived what she is singing. I find it so rare to hear that connection and emotion, the 'thing' that just moves you. Pavarotti was the same for me - he didn't just sing words of songs. He sang pure emotion, like it was coming from his soul. I hope it's something that Amira always holds onto to. It's so much more important than a perfect technique.

She must have been a conductor in her previous life. She moves her hands like she is conducting an orchestra plus she sings like a professional already.

I like how there's no buildup or whatever to the high note, she can just belt it out without hesitation.

Dearest Amira, I am an ancient 66yrs.old now, but when I was young I sang too, in 2 choirs - until my voice 'broke', then I sang in the basso section but hated it! For the first time in a long time you brought tears of joy and longing to my face when I found you on youtube, my mbiggest joy was watching the 'judges' facial reactions when you first opened your miraculous voice, you truly deserve all the success and wealth you and your natural 'perfect pitch can accrue, luckily I know you have an extrodinarily marvellous family around you, and I know they will look out for you, as the crones gather to profit from a talent they can never claim themselves! i am not a religious man .... but it would be very hard to argue that this ability is not a gift from God

3:19 is the moment were she absolutely nails it, one of the singularly most incredible holding of a note ever (taking her age and no lessons into account) just staggering, I could listen to that bit over and over again

She is like a little princess!

No matter how many times I watch this performance I still continue to react in the same way as I did when I first saw this audition. With amazement, joyful laughter accompanied by watery eyes and tears running down my cheeks. I continue to be blown away, forgetting that Amira will soon be turning 15 in March. Is it any wonder that she continues to be so well loved by devoted fans from all around the world. And let us not forget that selfless and oversized golden heart of one so young that continues to pour out for those in need of love. I know of no one else like her. She is simply MAGIC.

I will NEVER,EVER understand the logic of people who listen to Amira singing here and THEN go and give a 'thumbs down'! To me? that is an act of either pure jealousy or plain stupidity. Either way! they are ALL completely lacking when it comes to recognising a very rare and beautiful talented voice when they here 1. Grrrrrrrrrrr

Quite astonishing that she had no previous formal singing lessons and was singing purely self taught and on instinct, just imagine how great she'll become handed over to the right people in a classical singing conservatoire. To draw a comparison with the legendary Maria Callas at just 9 years of age is an incredible feat in itself.

Have watched this hundreds of times. It never fails to lift me up.

2:00 and it was at that moment they all knew they were screwed in this competition.

She just blew, instantly and without warning, all of the defences that took years to built. With her voice, she reached and broke the jar of my deepest sadness, and gave it a beautiful way to express itself. No wonder why the public glared astonished, this goes deep, highly personal, they were not prepared for such an intimate experience in a show like that; no one is really. This is an exceptionally rare gem.

Every time I hear this little girl singing does not matter what song she sings, I get tears in my eyes. When you see her in this clip just before she'll start singing as she takes a deep breath leaving everything outside. Just like she goes into a trance. A judge jumping around they're talking to each other, and this did not disturb her. She just kept on singing. This is what separates good singers from being great singers and Amira is a great singer. When she hits those high notes ... she makes it seem (just like a walk in the park) DAMN she's good and now a few years later, even better. Thanks Amira

One of the really special moments of this is when Amira receives her golden ticket and runs to her brother. Such innocent joy in her facial features and the way she ran to give her brother and father a hug!

No matter how many times I watch Amira's performance here, each time seems like a new experience. A truly amazing performance for someone so young!

15 February 2014 : Amira is in the UK this weekend for the recording of her very first album. Everything is going very well.

That was one of the best performances from a child that young that I have ever heard. On top of everything else she is incredibly poised and has great stage presence. Pretty,sweet and incredibly talented.

I always come back to watch this outstanding performance once in a while. She is such a great singer. Always gives me chills when she hits the high notes. Wotds cant describe how beautiful her voice is.

Although there are other children mentioned in posts that can sing just as well I prefer this girl because she came on looking so unglamerous, taught herself watching youtube clips and looked confused when was asked who taught her to sing. I also love the way she sings, she really expresses how she feels the music, she's not just singing and going through a rehersed routine in this audition, she is at one with the music emotionally. I love how down to earth and how normal she appears.

This is very impressive for a self taught nine year old 👍! Amira seems to sing with a more natural and correct operatic technique than e.g. Jackie Evancho and Charlotte Church. They sort of sing in the back of their throats by using air that they "trap" there with their tongues, which makes their facial and mouth expressions look weird at times and also makes them sound like grown up women. Amira sounds like an angelic young girl.

THIS IS the MOST incredible performance it has been my extreme pleasure to witness! It's not that Amira was ONLY 9 when she did this but the look of COMPLETE shock & amazement on the faces of the judges. NO matter how many times I watch THIS it is just like seeing it for the very first TIME!

As I write this Amira has been seen by over 25 million viewers. I think we all knew back in 2013 that she would be great. She is !!

Grant that the girl may not identify each note as such but her rendition is what matters most. She's genius of her chosen craft. Am sure Puccini is appreciating her interpretation. I don't doubt that. She has the innate confidence of a soprano, and the emotion of a giant performer.

Today I showed this to my mum for the first time, her reaction was exactly the same as mine - welling up. As was her reaction after hearing Ave Maria and then Nessun Dorma. I have lost count of how many times I have listened to these performances but watching this one tonight I realised something for the first time that every single one of those judges seems to of missed. When she sings, look at her eyes. Her eyes tell the story. How is it possible that a self taught 9 year old can add drama, emotion, passion, depth, power and weakness all at the same time as delivering a note perfect piece timed to perfection without any formal training. You could even turn the sound off completely and just watch her eyes, her eyes tell you what is going off at what part of this beautiful aria. Before anybody jumps down my throat and thinks this is a negative comment, I need to explain: To reach the very top of your game in whatever field of profession anyone chooses, it is a given that you have reached the top when you've put in 10,000 hrs of practice.. This incredibly natural talent ticks every single box there is , and then some and only 9 years old. The main judge likened her to Maria Callas, I thought that the first time I heard Amira sing, then I listen to Monserrat Cabalier ( apologies for the wrong spelling ). I think she is more geared towards Monserrat Cabalier than Maria Callas but that's just my opinion. What I do know is this: She'd already won this competition before she'd finished her first line. If she can do this on her first real platform and put so much emotion into one aria and then do it twice more all at a level that I would say is nothing short of world class performances? How good will she be with the proper guidance? I hope she is allowed to enjoy being a normal little girl for as long as she can possibly be and for someone to guide her steadily and cautiously in her early years. We don't want her burnt out at 25 with 3 kids and plastered all over the tabloids falling out of nightclubs at 4am ( sorry charlotte church - had to be said ). Amira has the talent to be one of the worlds greats and I really hope that one day her name will be standing alongside those true superstars, many of who are sadly no longer with us.

I have seen this video multiple times and still it gives me goosebumps every single time.

Many Indian cultures believe strongly in old souls. it is said an old soul will only come back to the pure of heart and one who walks in the light. as with Amira Willighagen and Jackie Evancho this has proven to be true. they are truly a gift to the world.

How did I not know about this audition? Obviously been living under a rock. I've been watching "Got Talent" auditions from around the world for many years and, only by chance, got to watch this ABSOLUTELY amazing child sing for the VERY 1st time last night. Now having watched it for what seems like the 1000th time, I can't believe it never crossed my path before. I don't watch or listen to a lot of Opera but this song was sung so Angelic from this child, I was mesmerised.. Especially when she closes her eyes during her audition and belts out those notes, just melts my heart. Oh and that smile and joy in her eyes at the end of her audition. That got me too!!.Congrats to Amira of 2013 for winning HGT and to Amira 2019 and beyond, keep up the GREAT singing. I'll be watching your career & talent from a distance in NZ. I know it was 6yrs ago now, (6 YEARS!!), it bought a lot of joy to me last night Dec2019, and it will do so for me & others for years to come...Well done!!

This child has enormous depth of feeling. She exudes a loveliness that goes beyond voice. She is a great talent. I keep coming back to this video whenever I need to feel joy.
