You just witnessed a future superstar. She is 17 now and has a world-class voice with control. range and purity. I'm surprised that she does not get more attention. Any of her work is nothing short of stunning. She not only sings opera but old classics. crossovers, and musicals. Enjoy the ride !
She is fluent in at least three languages(Dutch, English, Afrikaans) and sings in seven or eight. She is comfortable in many genres. Flower duet, O Mio Babbino Caro, Nessun Dorma, Caruso, opera....Amazing Grace, gospel....Sound of Music medley, musicals....Ave Maria, Pie Jesu, Sacred Aria....Gabriellas Song or Your Love....Movie scores....Her range is at least up to Eb6 and probably higher. Her performance of O Mio Babbino Caro with Andre Reiu and his orchestra at the age of 10 was spectacular. She has sung with many well known performers including Paul Potts and Corlea Botha...if you review her stuff be sure to note the date of the performance ...she was 9 years old in 2013.
Cool reaction. Thank you for that. But now you discovered Amira, my advice to you is to fasten your seat belt. If you wanne be more stunned and happy, then look and listen to all Amira performances, especially those from the Classics is Groot concerts in South Africa, like her O Solo Mio duet with Patrizio Buanne, her Flower duet with Corlea Botha, her Amazing Grace, her Gabriella song, her one word Hallelujah song e.o. They're all OUT OF THIS WORLD, BRILLIANT performances. Also her Iceland performance Ave Maria is unbelievable beautiful. There are many more Amira performances, so have fun watching them all good man. Amira is heartfelt feeling, one of a kind, soulful singer and person. She's AWESOME and one of my tripple AAA SUPER TALENTED ARTISTS, the other two are Angelina Jordan ( Jazz) and Alma Deuther ( composer, violinist and pianist). I know there are many great talents, but for me these 3 are the cherries on the cake. 👍
Flower duet or just anything at all. She is fabulous and not just a great singer but a great little girl with a huge heart, that gives her money to black kids in South Africa for playground equipment. Amria has a brother that she is devoted to,and he plays the violin but not very well. haha. She takes him along many times, but the video of her in a small church, with her brother playing the intro on his violin is just so plantif and beautiful and then she sings ave maria, a composition that is not the one we all are used to hearing. It is so amazing to hear her pure sound in that little church. You should actually read up on her and watch her videos. She puts the others girls you mentioned in the shade.
She was 12 here. Trained herself watching you tubes for 2 years, before going on Hollands Got Talent in 2013. She won that year with a little over 50% of the vote. In the beginning, she won Holland'a Got Talent (all 3 performances) at 9 years old, self taught to sing by viewing RU-vid, with no real professional instruction. Guest appearance at an Andre Rieu concert at 10 years old and got a standing ovation from 12-15,000 audience.. Started full concert appearances at 11 in Iceland, and in the 'Classics Are Great' concerts in South Africa at 12 years old. Her outstanding live concert performances: 'O Sole Mio' duet', 'Gabriella's Song'', 'Flower Duet', her AMAZING 'Amazing Grace', 'Sound of Music Medley', and what I believe truly shows her ability and range, her duet rendition of Freddy Mercury's opera/rock masterpiece 'Barcelona'. The out of focus, cell phone version is best of 'Barcelona', she goes up an octave on the final note, something that the original opera singer Monseratte Caballe did not do. The studio version of this one is not as good. Like your reactions, you will love Amira.

A lot of good suggestions below, I don’t need to repeat. I am 73 years old, an Elvis fan, and I have come to love this young lady singing. By the end of her performance I find myself smiling and crying all at same time. Do Gabriellas sang” and Waite till the end. You’ll see her trademark “Amira wave”. Just melts your heart.
If you like this you should see her number one video. She was 12 at the time but she sang O Sole Mio with Patrizio Buone (I probably misspelled his name) at Classics Is Groot in 2016.
Amira was 12 at this performance. Incredible voice. A great choice for your next reaction would be "The Flower Duet" one of the most beautiful actu Opera Arias from Lakme by Delibes when Amira was 13. It was about 7 months after this performance. Another great, almost shocking , performance is the duet with Patrizio Buanne of "O Sole Mio" live in 2016. This took place 4 months before this "Nella Fantasia". This is an iconic performance. Really, almost everything she has done is world class. Even some of the performances that weren't professionally recorded are worth listening too like Ave Maria by Gomez recorded from the audience at the Saint Canesius Church in 2015 at the age of 11. It is and other worldly performance. That entire concert left the audience stunned and overwhelmed with emotion. At that performance her father plays the organ, her brother the violin and her mother the recorder.
Amria got a great voice already, most of her learning how to use her voice was listening to RU-vid each of her performances get bettr and better---the voice of an angel----One of her best performances is "AMAZING GRACE" which you'ld find truly rememerable...ENJOY

Just a small snippet to enhance the comments below.... at the age of 7, she started watching the Ike’s of Pavarotti on uTube videos teaching herself to sing by mimicking his mouth movements and breathing techniques how does a seven year old even THINK about Opera, let alone practice singing it. When she won Holland’s Got Talent at age 9, she had not had a single singing lesson. As mentioned, she was 12 in this performance, but I’d like you to go ack to when she was 11 & react to: “ Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church “. The feeling & emotion she exudes is absolutely phenomenal together with her perfect voice & breath control. At this stage, she had started lessons, but she is only eleven. Her Ave Maria (Gomez) as others have wrote is not a great production but will let you admire the potential and talent of Amira when she was 11 eleven and the passion and joy she gives trough her music.
"In the Stars" is my favorite of Amira's! I get sweaty-eyed every time I watch and listen to her sing it, then gently lays her head down on the pillow at the end. The emotion just slaps me upside the head! In that video, she looks uncannily like my little granddaughter in the face, which endeared me that much more!

Please react to Amira Willighagen singing "In the Stars" at 12 or 13 (no fancy orchestra behind her, just her sitting on a couch in what looks like a beautiful church vestibule). She wrote and dedicated the song to her deceased grandmother. Also, "Amazing Grace" at 15 (the BEST rendition of the song I've ever heard), and a "Sound of Music" medley composed of "The Sound of Music," "Edelweiss," and "Climb Every Mountain" while dressed in a beautiful "Von Trapp" type of dress. And there are so many more by her! Hope you'll check out her "Holland's Got Talent" audition (age NINE!) of "O Solo Babino Caro" -- just stunningly unbelievable! She not only has a diamond voice, but a heart of gold as well with a sterling silver character. She has her own charitable foundation called Geluskinders which uses much of the money she earns to build playgrounds for poor children in South Africa where she and her family now reside. She plans to extend the playground building funds worldwide eventually. She just recently turned 17.
She's one of my favourites from the Netherlands. The other singers Floor Jansen and Glennis Grace I will recommend them highly to you. If wants something totally different then I advise you to see the last live concert in the Netherlands with Kensington and Direct at De Vrienden van Amstel live. You will not regret it I promise you.

There are female singers all over the world who are good at singing, but even among them, Amira is not a singer created by humans. People are fascinated and get goosebumps and shed tears. Amira is special.

Love your choices only a couple of corrections. Note the album mention added all the Classic is Groot songs from 2016-2018, so it can be confusing. Amazing Grace was form 2017 at 13.. In The Stars form around 2017-18, so 13 or 14. The Sound of Music was from the 2019 show at 15. Your Love the big one live was 2017, so I think the promo I think you are right, this without pulling out the CD. I own every DVD and CD she sold, that is where my info comes from. Sometimes the you tube video's come out later, so it can throw you off.

As someone who knows Amira personally I can state: Amira is widely considered to be the best singer in the world. She has amassed over 1 billion fans worldwide. Miss Amira also recieved a 10,000 person standing ovation at just the age of only 9. She also won Holland's Got Talent at age 9 as well. Amira has had no lessons or voice training to date. Amira's voice and quality might only be achievable after 20+ years of nonstop hardcore training. She has sought out vocal teachers and lessons countless times only to be told "I'm sorry, there is have nothing more I can teach you." She is now 18 years old and her voice is only going to get better. She says she learned from watching RU-vid videos. Over 1 billion fans Over 5 billion views
She has concentrated on her high school education in South Africa. Just graduated. Got her lungs winning distance races. Her folks are being careful with her voice as it matures. The duet is from Alma’s CINDERELLA OPERA which sold out in San Jose, California, and also sold out two added performances. They are about the same age.

Nella Fantasia is not an operatic aria. Good operatic example would be her 2017 CIG version of Nessun Dorma. Perhaps her best hymn singing is How Great Thou Art. Also for a different style her more recent The Lord's Prayer, recorded in South Africa.
She is amazing. Her future will be great. There is video of her singing a song called “in Th Stars”. The song is a tribute to her grandmother who passed away whenAmira was on Holland’s Got Talent. Not only does she sing, but she give half of what she earns to. Children in need in South Africa..she also goes there and helps. She is beautiful young woman. Also there is a video called Follow Your Heart. Which she performs with her father.
Hi Rob, Your reaction to this aria by Amira in Africans is Groot in November 2016 is wonderful. She truly is world class. In the July she is slightly younger and more child like vis a vis her November presentation where she is more mature and gives a more polished performance. This beautiful aria with music by Ennio Morricone from the film “The Mission,” and lyrics added by Chiara Ferraù is about an imaginary world of peace and harmony. I presume the implication is that this is the fantasy of the missionary which provokes enormous irony. The “mission” of the missionary is to persuade the indigenous people to abandon their cultural traditions and superstitions in favor of the missionary’s culture and superstitions. Europeans generally regarded indigenous peoples to be “savages” in need of “salvation.” So the fantasy is presumably about a world of European culture and superstition, rather than of any sort of diversity or inclusion. The first 2 minutes is another Ennio Morricone composition called "The River" with the voices of the Mzansi Youth Choir, then Amira comes on stage for Nella Fantasia.
So when Brightman wrote the words and sang this song she did not use a C6 for the last note. Brightman, a mezzo soprano did not write the last note as high C. Amira reaches C6 and sustains the note with ease.
