Piercings don't hurt really at all, but those two locations (upper cartilage on BOTH ears, and navel) are kind of a pain to heal because they always get caught on things or have pressure put on them.

it makes me really upset that they recorded her panic attack, panic attacks are terrifying and you’re really vulnerable in that state, i’d be mortified if someone recorded me having one.

I have had my belly button pierced (I let it close almost 2 decades ago) and it does hurt a little bit. There is a bit more meat for the needle to pierce, but overall, I'd take a thousand piercings over giving birth again 😂

I got my belly button pierced when I was 26. I asked the piercer if it hurt and she said “have you ever stubbed your toe?” I said “Yea”. And she said, “It hurts way less than that.” She was right.

I was with my friend when she got a belly button piercing and she said it didn't hurt at all. Based on what I have heard and seen, people's experiences of navel piercings vary wildly - and until you get it, you don't know which you are going to be. So I'm not going to throw shade at Rosanna for finding it painful. Actually, I'd say good on both of them for getting piercings.

Used to be a temp in a tattoo shop and to be truthful I have seen worse reactions... People collapse at the sight of the needle,I mean I've seen grown men looking like the hulk faint at the sight of them so I'd say they did pretty well 🤣

She handled the two girls so well, I'm so glad to see that. I was thinking a helix for an easy to hide piercing..or a rook or conch...daith as well. I'm glad to see it as a helix - something easier. I think a belly piercing wasn't a bad idea t all...since they don't wear jeans that would wind up in the way, or rubbing. I like it. I'm glad they got it done and had someone there to help them through it.

Okay so these girls did amazing for a first time!! I have 15 piercings and I almost cried getting my lobe done a year ago 🤣 you develop a level of tolerance to the pain after a while. It even becomes a satisfying feeling. To anyone looking at getting pierced for the first time, do it! It’s such a short pain. Just take a sugary drink and eat before and I promise you’ll be fine!

Aw the person doing it was so nice! I remember I got my ears pierced for the first time when I turned 10 and I was so nervous! I used to be so scared of needles, then one time when I was like 13 or 14 I had to go to the hospital, and they stuck so many needles in my arms they felt like they were going to fall off! But after that I wasn't so scared anymore and I'm actually studying to be a nurse! Funny how things work like that. Just a reminder that it's okay to be worried, and piercings actually don't hurt too much, it's just a little pinch normally like for me it was just the fear.💙✨

I remember in 1978 when I got my navel pierced (I still have it, and never had a problem with it). I watched the whole procedure with interest, and it didn't hurt at all. My piercing was done at The Gauntlet in Los Angeles, CA by Jim Ward himself. I still have over a half inch of skin between the holes, and it was done with a ring. All piercings were done that way back then. I now wear banana belly bars like everyone else. I still do have the original ring too though. Body piercing has come a long way since then, and for the better. (Jan Griffiths).

Makes me giggle. I did my own back moons ago before we had the piercing guns. Did mine w an ice cube on both sides to freeze abit. All we had then was thread- we had to pull thread back & forth so the holes didn't close up. Used rubbing alcohol to clean- that burned for awhile! It was MAJOR accomplishment to finally put in a pair of wires. Then I did other girls- one passed out. GRT memories. Cool @ the time- all we had

I’m so happy to see this because I watched the video where they left for Florida but didn’t have I.D to fly and I was hoping they didn’t have to go home. Fancy suggesting a labia piercing to an Amish girl who has never had a piercing! 🤣. These girls are much more head strong than they know. It must be really difficult to go out into the world and do things they’ve always been told are evil and they will go to hell for. Essentially brainwashed from birth. It does hurt. For me my piercings hurt worse than the tattoos did. I have chronic pain though. My body hurts everywhere 24/7 so my pain tolerance is pretty high. I had a dermal taken out and another put in the same day. I wouldn’t recommend that. That’s a bit too much.. I had a black eye for a couple weeks.

No offence, but I think it’s a mistake to ask how she feels lying on the table, about to get her belly-button pierced. It makes her more aware of her fear & is only going to raise anxiety levels more. The professional thing to do is to get her talking about totally unrelated stuff that interests her; whether it’s a favourite hobby, what food she’s planning to eat later on, if her Amish community has any special events lined up any time soon ... ANYTHING besides the needle that is about to pierce her flesh! 😨🤷‍♀️

I had my ear pierced by a friend with a safety pin in an outdoor train station late at night. She said she was going to put a marker dot on it first. So I felt her tapping with the marker, then she said "done". No pain at all. The bad part was when I had to take the pin out and put a stud in. It made me really nauseous.
