Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was honoured with prestigious third Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award on April 24. Singer Usha Mangeshkar, the third eldest Mangeshkar sibling, presented the award to Amitabh Bachchan. The award was instituted in memory of melody queen Lata Mangeshkar after her demise in 2022. The award is given for remarkable dedication to the nation, its people, and society. The Marathi wadapavwala in my neighborhood can speak fluent Hindi. I can understand that Marathi is difficult to learn but 50 years is a decent time to learn anything I guess if you want to. Lataji picked Hindi so well and sang thousands of superhit songs. Karnataka born Marathi manoos Shiavjirao Gaekwad, who is also famous as Rajnikant, learnt Tamil and has been acting in Tamil films for decades. It is a mistake of generous and kind hearted Marathi manoos for not pushing outsiders to speak our language. Amitabh Bachchan is a shining example of what respect we can get in return.

Mr. Amitabh Bachan it is very shameful that even after staying in Maharashtra for more than 35 years you proudly say that you are still trying to learn marathi shame on you. Try to the same thing in southern states you will be booted out of their states.

Its not every day that you get to learn from a great actor how to eloquently insult Marathi. Wow. Nothing funny and not at all a matter of pride that even after decades you announce publicly that you are not able to learn Marathi. Wonder how swiftly you learnt Bengali or how fluent you speak Punjabi But wonderful to hear from you, words of such high respect towards the legend called Lata Mangeshkar.
