A Kant is virtually shouting like a BJP spokesperson. His body language is aggressive and arrogant. He conveys his Master’s voice that all is hunky dory, prefers to avoid the pitfalls and failures. PTR comes across as more calm, knowledgeable and professional in his articulation.

Dr. PTR gave REALISTIC situations of Democracy in India. Modi has systematically destroyed hard won miracles in keeping the INDEPENDENCE of the Supreme Court, High Courts, RBI, Revenue Depts, CBI, NIS etc. Corruption and Political interference is so huge, the Democracy is terribly wounded during Modi Regime. To recover from this Anarchy, India needs decades of reform. Economically, India needs enormous structural changes: 1. Comprehensive River Connections from J & K to Kanyakumari so that we don't depend on Monsoons every years. IF the Monsoons fail for 3 consecutive years, India will become the next Pakistan or Sri Lanka. Constant availability of water for Agriculture ever year all year is a Very Important Aspect of India's Future Growth... Modi never mentioned this ever. Whatever Modi started in the last 10 years, NOTHING worked well at all. For example, DeMonetization & GST Implementation. Clean India failed because of the lack of water at the toilets! With all the mis-information, Modi Raj had a growth of barely 7% which means GDP Per Capita doubled in 10 years, much slower than what we had during Dr. Singh's Time: It grew at a rate of 1.5 times MORE than Modi Period. Amitab Kant talks like a Cheap Modi Propagandist, not as an Objective Economist! Dr. PTR is a Professional Achiever, less of a Politician! Wait & Watch!

He as the head of the so-called Niti Ayog failed to ensure that the laid down objective rule of law were followed in case of the Airport management allocation done a few years ago when the GOI bent the rules to favour Adani group to allocate 6 airports in one shot.

Great Mr. P. T. R. You spoke convincingly and realistically while Mr. Amitabh, in my opinion, spoke more like a politician rather than a scholar and so was not very convincing with his loud voice and statistics being compared to the population of the countries etc. Anyway one is happy to hear many things are done for the poor.

I think PTR Thiagarajan is head and shoulders above what one expects from an average politician. However, the one topic I find conspicuously absent from all these debates is the catastrophic impact upon India's environment that the urbanization touted by the likes of Amitabh Kant is having. Mr. Kant would transplant the labor force from agricultural areas to cities, teach them to make widgets, operate computers -- and call it "skilling", pay them a higher wage -- and call it progress. I would like to ask him -- What will this great demographic dividend **eat** when crops are incinerated by scorching temperatures, fickle rain patterns and falling water tables? What is the state of India's urban Monstropolises like Delhi and Gurgaon which have "developed" by way of decimating the once lush and verdant natural environment ? Where respiratory ailments are on the rise even among children? What does Mr Thiagarajan have to say about the mountains of stinking garbage piling up on the streets of Chennai and the total lack of civic sense of the urban citizenry? What will it take to make intelligent people aware of the **extent** of their own stupidity and myopia?

Amitabh Kant seems to think that rapid urbanisation is the best way to capitalise on our young demographic. Such short-sighted thinking and that too by the Niti Ayog CEO is shocking. By moving people away from the villages and therefore away from agriculture paves the way for industrial agriculture which is the failed American model, which results in low quality produce, increased monocultures, increased pesticide/herbicide use, depletion of water tables, degradation of soil and untold damage to the environment- flora & fauna alike, esp the pollinators. Agriculture can be modernised instead of industrialised. Keeping people in the villages with ample opportunities for livihood is any day better than increasing the stress on our cities.
