Re: hospital bandages... I worked on a terrible USC student film which was a scene adapted from a Clive Barker novel set in a hospital (essentially a brother visiting his brother whose face chemical peel went rather... badly). The "director" was clueless on a number of levels, one being the bandages over the eyes of the patient showing "blood," instead of clean white. I pointed out no on-call nurse would not change such bandages (let alone my playing his doctor who would be extremely concerned with such currently unsanitary bandages). The director didn't care. He also didn't care the fake door (it was filmed on a soundstage) had hinges that squealed so loudly the Addams family would be envious. And the director insisted I use it despite doing so even when the door wasn't even in the shot. He also wouldn't hear that such hospital rooms don't really close the doors, as were there were an emergency nurses may have to rush in. He also filmed the guy in the bed in a way my head is out of frame much of the time, and out of like six takes, in _one take_ I gaffed one word in the line. In the finished "product," despite my head not even being in frame, it's the _gaffed line_ he used for that shot... 🤦 Can't be sure if he did that to make me look bad, or just to continue to convey his own incompetence...
