I'm freshwater only so not as related. But yeah I've stopped bothering to track ammonia and nitrite. As long as I've got a couple of undergravel airstones going, and increase the feeding gradually, it almost never matters. I'll never bother buying an ammonia test kit again.

I will never agree that nitrite kits are a waste of money. The nitrite level of the water in Northern Indiana seems to always be at the maximum level allowed by the state. I found out just how bad the water was when my axolotl suddenly had his gills curled and I did a water test to find that the water change I just did was actually adding water at toxic levels because my $500 reverse osmosis system was not removing nitrites as it was advertised to do. So I easily go through test kits for all the major tests before they expire because if it wasn't for the visual cue from my axolotl I could have easily lost all three of my tanks.

I set a new saltwater aquarium I have live rock and added a bottle of fritz 9 to my 32.5 fluval flex and 3 days later started adding frozen food, day 7 no reading of ammonia, I’m using the saltwater api test kit any ideas?

It's possible that the bacteria in the tank is already processing ammonia into nitrite and nitrates. Are either of those parameters detectable?

I am cycling my new tank. I am using pure ammonia to cycle my tank. I used API test and the result show my ammonia to be lift cooper blue

I set up a new reef tank and while I was reading the instructions on the Fritz zyme 9 bottle, my niece who is only 5 tipped the whole bottle in. Will this cause problems as I was told that you cannot overdose with bacteria.

Your tank may turn cloudy if a bacterial bloom occurs, but nothing catastrophic will happen. Especially if your tank is just getting going with no livestock yet.
