Very good demo. This thing performs well for its price range and isn’t over complicated with a digital menu to search through. Yeah beat buddy is more realistic but it also costs 5 times as much and requires menu diving. Ideal for jamming and having fun. It’s not meant to be complicated and be able to switch beats so when people complain about it not being ideal for live they are right, but it’s not meant for it. It’s a practice tool.
Thank you for a great demo of this. I keep hoping one of these inexpensive drum loopers will have appropriate sounds for the styles they are playing. This one gives many patterns, but very few could be used on a solo gig. They cymbals are overwhelming on everything. With drum machines, simple patterns are much more useable and adaptable to a large variety of songs than busy ones. Latin patterns on this sound like they are played on a metal kit. No subtlety at all in the patterns. The idea is not to fill up as much space as possible with cymbals and HH. It’s to support and complement what you are playing. It’s a lot of bang for the buck but to me it just sounds loud and trashy with no dynamics or space in the patterns.
I was looking quite seriously at this device…. but now I can go look elsewhere. The only rhythm sections I would find anything slightly useable would be blues, rock and disco - and I also really, really wanted something useable for jazz and pop!
Thanks for posting this demo of the drum patterns! My comments are not limited to this unit, which although I Love the form factor ... I can't understand why every one of these preset machines is just filled with patterns only a 15 yr old would be impressed with. Perhaps that is the market. But they are WAY too busy for practical use .... the samples sound great the playing is also... but lots of fills and broken beats a groove does not make. Please drum programmers... give us fundamentally something useful ... My Opinion matter? ... Bought my first in drum machine in 1975 (TR-66 Rhythm Arranger). Had them all ... if Alesis or Roland or Yamaha had made a pedal drum machine there would be no conversation. I think I'll just load my own program grooves into a Looper and call it good.

has anyone taken one of these bad boys apart? It would be cool if there was some way to connect to a computer and change some beats, maybe replace a few for some simple click tracks, in which it would be a perfect unit.
Not for me. Read my comment on this vid. Thing is a toy. A bad toy. Save a few bucks and roll with something better. My 1st Ammoon product and will be my last.
@@gardenstateflatlandb you make an error about pockverb and pockecho. Excellent units. You may had a bad unit ... Simply. Didn't ask to exchange ect .. ? Didn't contact the seller ? And noise is often due to the powering. Do you use a good isolated power source ?
My unit doesn't sync guitar and drums together very well. Syncs what I'm actually playing when it feels like it. Tons of strange Nintendo sounding beeps at random and tons of white noise. Had to crank the Noise Gate to the moon to remedy this, but it's sucking my sound. Can't fully turn the unit off so that noise is always there as long as it's connected on the pedalboard. Tried disconnecting power to the pedal, but doing so doesn't allow the signal to pass thru. Drum tracks are garbage and way too short to lay anything decent down. Drums also sound very tinny. Snare and symbols are thru the roof harsh, and can barely make out any low end whatsoever. Garbage unit.
I agree on many of your points, except the noise issues. I don't like the drum sound either and syncing guitar and drums often is hard to manage. I was very pleased with the PockVerb and PockEcho...but this unit kind of disappointed me. The digitech Trio plus is way better.
Here is my impression of this pedal. The sound of the drums is not bad, but it could be better. A serious problem is the tempo. As I can see, each style has a different BPM. If the tempo was uniform, at least at the level of the genre, it would be OK. My view is that this device is unusable.
Very excited when I saw this come up on eBay as I have & love the POCKECHO, so I was expecting great things from it, but ALAS: If this thing had more 'bread n butter' rhtythms, it really would be a serious contender, but sadly as it is it's disappointing ! e.g: in the rock genre it only has 3 usable patterns, and that's typical of all the styles ! ~ when are they going to get musos input into these things when it comes to the important features !? And, no USB to enable editing or loading up your own styles .... that really is a deal breaker for me !!
@@theharpsichordofmozart4258 ..Like I said, it's all relative to your pocket, what you think of the sounds and what you hear. Maybe someone will prefer this over Beatbuddy. You think it's the ' best ', not everyone else will.
