I love "Machine for Pigs" I like it much more than the first, but still from Amnesia expected in the first place it is scary monsters.

this psychological fear affects me more than chasing the idea of the game is really terrifying

This game terrified me far, far more than any other amnesia title. You're correct, the horror isn't in the scary monsters but the idea, the very likely idea, that The Engineer was right. It would have been a mercy for the deranged, nightmarish bloodbaths to come to never have been possible in the first place. The twentieth century was a gaping maw into which hundreds upon hundreds of millions of lives were shoveled and the twenty first century will be worse. Everyone alive now to read this will see unimaginable horror before you die, such that our species has never before endured.

Swoboda Dobra the scary thing as well is that the game is set on the New Years Eve of 1900, and the machine has seen into the future. This means that the player knows just as much as Mandus that these events are unchangeable and all this suffering will come to pass no matter what anyone does to stop it. It's the great tragedy of the game, where if you beat the Machine then all the suffering and evil that happened in our 20th century will occur again, but if you let the Machine win, then humans are brutally killed and the rest of humanity is kept in line using fear. The irony of the game is that in trying to stop humans from hurting and oppressing each other, Mandus and the Machine became those exact people they were supposedly against. They themselves became tyrannical, evil fascists.

It is unavoidable. It will happen no matter what. It is the nature of humanity. This entire universe is a great, deterministic machine. Everything you do and say are the inexorable result of everything that came before you. You have never had a thought. You have never had "a feeling." You do not know what love is. You are experiencing a post-hoc delusion created by the chemical pumps in your simple, monkey brain to fool you into believing that these are true when more and more evidence points to decisions being made automatically and the brain inventing justifications for them microseconds after they've begun. You are an automaton. You act according to your programming. Your function is to breed and die. Even this conversation was the inevitable result of a chain of causality stretching back to the very beginning. Every "choice" you have ever made has led you to reading these words. You do not exist.

Oh, I don't doubt that. I think the problem was mostly that people felt the gameplay was a bit lacking. And honestly, I do kinda agree. Atleast in some areas.

For context, this game takes place on December 31, 1899.

You probably hasn't realized that it's not a game with some cheesy slender jumpscares or something un intellectuar like that. It's the story which is so deep but still simple that makes you shiver in the mere thought how these monsters came to be. How he persuaded a dream of that to eradicate the human race, to spare us the suffering of living. Next time YOU want to be scared, play some worthless indie-jumpscare games instead if thats what you want..

***** If you actually play horror 24/7 like myself, the first amnesia just becomes boring after like 3h into the game. "Hear monster" "Hide in a corner" "monster goes away" "Win". It was scary first though yes, but later on? No, then it was all about the story and the story wasn't even THAT good. I mean the ending part was more ugly than fascinating/cool/interesting.

The machine showed mandus world war 2 and wanted to stop it by murdering everyone (or so I think) and mandus finds out that he went mad beacuse of this and ate his children`s hearts to "spare them" from the world war, but out of guilt sabotured the machine afterwards. Then tried to commit suicide but got amnesia (THEN YOU START TO PLAY), then the machine tells him this after tricking him innto reactivating him, and out of despair. Mandus kills his creation for forgivness from his son`s, ends up dying and world war 2 happens
