I was there age 17, I went with some mancunians I met in on the beach whilst on holiday with my parents. The best night I've ever had in a club. It was absolutely fantastic
Me too! I’m sure they opened with fireworks at the large window at the back, they played this piano song which I’ve never heard since. Don’t suppose you remember it? What an awesome night!!!
Bullshit, if you were male, and seventeen, you were not let thru at the door passage, not in Space, Pacha, and not in Amnesia. I know, because I was 26 at that time, dancing on the dance floor. However, females (young girls from 15/16/17) were gone thru the door policy.
@@Phantasia.Official I was 19 in 1992 and went to Amenesia that year and the year before that . I looked about 15 actually. We turned up as a group of 5 lads and got in no problem and to space and pascha
those are days.. im djing for several years im 35 years old in vinyl and i only set the mood like this. I hate hords of kinds with smartphones.. im pure vibe hunter since i was born. These videos will be teached in every club owner
I was in Ibiza back in 1992...but as a 10 year old with family and staying in Santa Eulalia!!. But I do remember “Rhythm is a dancer” by Snap...“please don’t go” by KWS and “All my lovin” by Los Manolos, along with other songs of the time that are now classics, playing lots around the pool and beach areas!!. Great memories!.x :0D
Thanks for some of the song names. I only recognized Rhythm is a Dancer, but I love early '90s house music. I was born in the '90s, but grew up listening to it because of my parents.

I've been watching a lot of old club footage from "back in the day". I know in the comments that many people keep saying something along the lines of, *"look how happy everyone is without smartphones getting in the way"* . I agree with this sentiment. However, from the footage people still seem to be in little cliques and only interacting and dancing with people they already know it seems. I see a lot of dudes dancing solo and many of the women seem to be taken. Maybe it is not quite the dream that people make it out to be. Still, the old days look great for other reasons.
I was there in '92 and the magic had gone , you could see the money people had started to move in , also the DJs weren't that great , the club's and DJs were better back in the UK.
love this video.....the chaos of the dance floor...before DJs were super stars and people went to clubs to really shake their booties and mingle and not just stand there all looking in the same direction at the DJ booth.....no cell phones and the DJ booth was totally out of reach and at times even out of sight! Hard to believe it was ever that way! Great music too! I wish I could've been there. Fortunately, there was an Amnesia in Miami and I went there every weekend from 1992-1994! Even to the Foam Parties! The DJ was literally in a closet..no one even knew where he was! lol! thanks for posting this! I was just at Cream Amnesia and can tell you that 2016 looks very different than 1992 but also fun! ;-)
I have been watching videos of Raves, Goa raves and Ibiza Nights all around 90 to 93 all different events but with the same energy and euphoria. It seems like the golden age lasted until the mid nineties. I didn’t start going to events until mid 1995 so I never got to experience any of it in its prime. Nothing I go to these days, looks as exciting as this !
No "smart" phones......and no Botox...... and the women had their own eyebrows (probably). Being well adjusted to a sick society is no measure of health. Strange days for sure and God's definitely watching...... and waiting. PEACE.
Yesterday, while searching for a documentary about Ibiza, I accidentally came across this video clip that immediately inspired me to create some 90s-style house music, like Snap used to do. I don't know if it's because I grew up with that kind of music, but it seems to me that there was more energy and emotion in the dance music of that time compared to today.
"well I need your loveeeee... Dont make me wait so long.. ohh ohh I need your touch.. don't make me waaaait for your looove ahaha.." Oowww... The definitive tune of Rave imo.. the peak.
ouuuu yeahhh that was the true ibiza , nowadays is only a comercial brand , people are dressed jajaja very funny comment but it's true ..nowadays it's very sad greetings from valencia
"L O V E D O V E" that compound created a whole area of music circa 1991-1996 for some strange reason that drug had no coming down side effects look at the crowd 09:00 still rocking
I was 20 years old in 1992 but I started going out in 1988. Always dreamed of making it to Ibiza but never did. I grew up in Antwerp en I rapidly transitioned from new beat/acid (14 years old), to 80s/90s R&B (there was a Club called Funk You) to House Clubs like Cafe d'Anvers and ultimately Fuse in Brussels. We used to listen to listen to the RADIO and all kids in high school used to tune in to special radio shows that played electronic music and then talk about it the next day at school. Summers were spent with my friends near Jerez de la Frontera at PACHA (foam parties) and Oh Puerto! No drugs contrary to what people think. Mostly getting drunk every night and sleeping on the beach. I even went to Detroit once to meet with Mike Banks at UR since I was making music for DJAX and Bonzai at the time. Good memories. Beautiful yet crazy girlfriend though. Hope she's OK. And like other people say. Almost everybody went to the clubs to DANCE. You talked to your friends at school and met up at the club at night. It is indeed weird why everybody is looking at the DJ booth right now instead of really being there to dance. This I don't get. It feels weird for sure. And yes... no cell phones, social media, internet was just peeping out of its nest and was used only by maybe 5% of the population (I was one of them; had to go to the head office of my bank and they had a room with PCs where you could log on... pre-netscape era I believe). Things changed for sure. I don't believe for the worse or the better. 80s had terrorism (CCC, RAF, IRA, Bende van Nijvel, lots of not so good things going on). I eventually moved to NYC and went to clubs like The Tunnel and the Limelight. But the scene in NY was definitely not at the same level as in Europe. Was it better back then? Human beings tend to see past times through a romantic lens. Nothing wrong with that. I like the quote by Charles Dickens: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” PS: Right now I live in San Francisco and I sometimes go to events at Public Works but it doesn't draw the same crowds as I used to see in Europe. Different vibe. Who knows. Maybe I'll move back to Europe after 30 years in the US. Kids just left for college. Wife is gone. House is sold. I did everything I could. Life is still good. Blessings.
You may have seen them by now, but I'll post this anyway for anyone else interested - search for amnesia closing party 1989. The roof went up in the closed season of that year/early 1990. If you look closely you might even see me in there 😂
Ibiza has lost its soul ! It's a commercialised hole now with "Miami spring break" style parties full of plastic faces with camera phones in their hands , and who don't give a f@ck about the music. Sadly, these days are long gone and never to return.
+Maciejkowsky Tyvm! Had Moby in my head, but actually didn´t find it in my Itunes. Was in the vinyl collection, long time since i heard this gem. Will bring it on the dancefloor on friday!!
I wish I had a time machine to hear "Rhythm is a Dancer" when it was new in 1992 at a club in Ibiza... Also, does anyone know the name of the first song?
