I experienced this show at the Fillmore in Miami. When you mention the "reverberations" and the "crushing" it reminds me that I have never been to a show (and I've been to hundreds of every stripe) that was so bass heavy that it made my brain shake in my cranium. As a matter of fact, I decided to look down at one point, and saw shattered glass everywhere. After about 3-4 seconds, it became obvious to me that one of the 10" flood lights that were hanging 30-feet above had become undone due to the unrelenting low end pounding during the show. One of the best concerts I have ever been to.
I saw this in SF and it was maybe the best work of art I've ever witnessed. There needs to be some awards category for this. I can't believe it hasn't gained more recognition.
Never like techno/electric music until I seen this! It made me why all the EMD kids love visuals, and sacred geomotry now. Back in rave days"90's" it was E and speed. Lol
Yes sir me too Very much an avant garde jazz like experience compared to all of the ravey shows I've been to. Spine tinglingly good from start to finish
Daft Punk were masters of live PA and session mixing combined with visual displays. Amon Tobin and his production team set the bar with Isam Live. Yet to be eclipsed by another artist. Solid Steel live in Melbourne, 2004, is another example of how insanely talented he actually is.
I latched onto Fear In A Handful Of Dust and Long Stories, but just about everything of his (including his experimental VST projects) strokes something in me.
I remember hearing Supernodified 20 years ago. This and Cinematic Orchestra. Blew my mind to pieces. Ninja Tune put on the best music in the world, so versatile and original artists. 20 years back in Poland we were so hungry for music like this having been free from the Iron Curtain for just so short. 10 years later we had Polish band Skalpel on Ninja Tune. Give it a try and never stop believing your dreams.. 💪
@@hubertdarul5283 I was living in NYC and fell in love with the Ninja Tunes label at that same time and bought Supermodified after hearing tracks from Amon Tobin on their other "mixed tapes." I was very into Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, DJ Shadow, Coldcut, Kid Koala and all the amazing and eclectic music flowing from this label in the early 2000s. Cinematic Orchestra, as well. I don't know what it's like to grow up in a culture like yours, but the music found you and you are forever blessed!
This was the first show I played after setting up my first real home theater system. SO much depth that is missed with poor speakers came slamming into my basement. My goosebumps had goosebumps. Have loved Amon since 2001 when a friend mailed me Bricolage, Permutation and Supermodified. I wore those discs out. Absolute genius. ❤
Outstanding... And the visuals..this is art.. It is a great achievement to arrange geometric shapes in such a way that I get the feeling that they are living beings with feelings . Brilliant.
Me too Dave, the type of visceral sounds and atmospheres he creates are just so good at saturating your whole being. Beyond just listening, you can't help but feel this shit on a deep core level within every cell of your physical framework
I cannot possibly begin to explain how much this album inspired me. I played around with the visual to audio concepts but yours is done so beautifully. ISAM takes my breath away with how elegantly you achieve such a powerful experience. I hope i get to the level where we can collaborate some day. Beautiful and amazing!
Saw this when he performed in Brooklyn in 2011. Amazing visual/audio performance for sure. It's great to see the video for this but it's really something that you need to experience first hand to fully appreciate it. The size/scale/sonics are just phenomenal.
What a Fk...ng show!! I have been lucky enough to attend around 5 years ago in Denver.CO and still remember. It blowed my mind. Thanks for the HD video
This is awesome in so many ways that I can't even put it into words. All I can say is thank you A LOT Amon, for being such an innovative and creative artist and for making such pieces that I know will be remembered in the future among the best artworks produced in our time. Keep going! Cheers from Brazil
Amon my friend. Totally unbelievable really, still remember the day I saw this. I’m not sure how to repeat or beat it. But I hope you’re planning more. Sydney, AU
On a Q&A session on reddit he said verbatim: “well isam had it’s time and place. much as I enjoyed munching shrooms in a cube dressed as an astronaut I look forward to other times and places.” So likely something like this will never happen again :(
One of my biggest regrets is not driving my friend and myself (from OC) to the show in LA with Eskmo.. I believe it was on a Tuesday night and I was younger and impressionable and was like "nahhh I have work the next day..." sure enough, that job didn't last but experiences like these last for forever... Now my friend is no longer with us but going through the music we liked is an awesome way to connect with good memories.. I still play Lost & Found and GoTo 10 in my sets when I'm playing amongst myself.. I also played Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory back in the day, fantastic game at the time with fantastic sound!
Ok but Kitty cat ( 38:33 - 44:40 ) is what I came here for and that song is on a whole other level than anything I’ve ever heard. Heard it back in 2010 first time seeing the visuals. Insane .. like another world fr
This is absolutely incredible, I feel ashamed for not having heard of him sooner. Would be awesome if he brought this to the UK eventually. The audioreactive visuals remind me a lot of Max Cooper, I'd recommend checking him out if you're looking for something similar to this
Big underground fan for centuries now haha....but this is one is the fattest electronic live performances ever!! it reminds me of a few of my best trips inner and outher space.... Wicked shit, and so sweet and beautiful. U r master, i hate you 😘💚🤸♀🤘👅
This production is mind blowing. I saw this live, and as far as I remembered I did not get more than 1 drink because I didn't wanna miss a single second
Amon. I don't usually ask for much. But please. Pretty please. With a cherry on top. Could you release a full-length version of that remixed Slowly at 22mins? The original is one of my favorite pieces of music PERIOD, so having this version would be the icing. Thank you.
El Demonio Tobin, todo un maldito viaje recuerdo escucharte hace 18 años atrás en mi diskman, junto a Aphex, the prodigy, vitalic, siriusmo y el gran Luke vibert
"Watch ISAM on acid" has been on my to do list for a while. Can't believe I never saw it. That was 100% the beethoven/mahler/whatever of our time. Expression of the human spirit doesn't get any better than this (in my drug-addled gen-x opinion).
