if i remember Krell was about to switch side and go with the Separatists during the Battle of Umbara...so he is a traitor(from the Jedis' point of view)

Also this gave clones good reason execute order 66 even if chips failed. Fox hated the jedi I think. In other words. Krell got what he deserved.. Wait didn't Krell survive the window jump on Umbara during his arrest? Does that mean he survived this one? :O
