@@charlesgreenwood8229 Overall Elegy is great! To me, it felt like they were going through a transitional period based on their sound and style. Lots of fun song though on that album. "Better Unborn", "Weeper on the Shore", and the acoustic reprise of "My Kantele" were my favorite. I will be honest and say I do prefer the sound of the remade versions of "Song of the Troubled One" and the full version of "My Kantele".

It's incredible but this band just gets better and better. All the Joutsen era albums are incredible and I'm ready to put Amorphis at the very top together with 80's Maiden as my favorite bands of all time.

Love Amorphis since I was 12 years old (25 years i the past maybe) when I buy a TAPE of Tales from thousand lakes. They are doing great till now... lovely to hear.

i was sixteen when i found out about this band (The Karelian Isthmus) and now i'm 41 and they still are one of the best Finland has to offer.Timeless music and artists.
I've known of Amorphis for at least a decade, but only ever listened to more than just a few of their songs until recently. I don't know why it took me so long to listen to the rest of their stuff, but I regret not doing it earlier. Honestly my favorite band right now.
back into 2010 - 2016 at lunta ilosaaressa I saw Amorphis live and this was song that I tried to sing whole trip back home. When I back then heard Tomi growl final part where he sings "death of A King" from that exact moment i knew what I wanted. I Wanted to learn growl and scream like a devil just like Tomi. This is THE song for me. THE song that got me into metal. Thank you Amorphis, You changed that little boys life for ever. This is where madness began.
Damn his growls!! So monstrous sounding They almost remind me of Travis Ryan's growls in a way, like... If Travis Ryan and mikael akerfeldt had a baby maybe, I don't know. Of course this is just coming from a first time listener of amorphis mostly. Then his cleans are great of course!
