Portrayal and overture are awesome... if you have fahrenheit prioritze overture man IMO... but the opening of portrayal man is out of this world especially if you like the petrol accord in the older fahrenheit bottles...portrayal man has that in spades. Thanks for watching and commenting mike v😁
Im not a collector and I don’t have a particular affinity for the Amouage house but on a given day I could place Memoir, Portrayal, Bracken and/or Jubilation in my personal top 10. All are masterpieces, to me. I’d take Reflection or Journey or Interlude any day too. Maybe I am a bigger fan than I thought!
Yes thats right i did get that ysl opium vibe...tbh not familiar with Lancome Magie Noir at all...i have only given it 1 full wear and it was hot... i will wear it again in the cold.. maybe even a comparison video? 🤔
Thanks for watching and commenting Jonathan... love overture too.. i dont know if i would put it as my number 1 tho.. omg a ranked Amouage list would be a nightmare 🤣 cheers mate 🍻
Good reviews man! I like the way you approach your reviews than most others on here. Honest, no hype, and you tell your experience with them. Keep on making videos!
Overture blew me away too... one of the best boozy scents out there IMO. I sent the 🦆 10 decants and he sent me 10 decants... he received his decants today & one of the 10 was overture man...so maybe we will see a first impression🤔
Chong-era Amouage I adore. Not happy with the new direction so far. Just my opinion. Might just be my favourite house 👀 Love your videos btw! Can't wait to watch your future reviews! Reflection man contains some very expensive materials funny enough, and gets put aside as mainstream. I get that though. It's cleanliness is far away from Fate for example!
I used to say Amouage was my favorite house when chong was there too.. not happy about the direction of the house either.. i used to blind buy all my Amouages as soon as they came out... Not anymore! Thanks for watching and commenting.. a few more family portraits (Guerlain & Roja) and I am going to do a haul of the fragrances i scored from mudassir who is a chap that sells frags on basenotes soon.. then i will hop into the individual reviews 😊
@@RamseytheRam Honestly you are natural in front of the camera and love that it's in one take. Just good ol' honest fragrance discussion. Looking forward to it! :)
What a family you got there, Ramsey! I own a couple of Amouages myself and this made me curious to at least sample the rest of them. Hope you have a great day. :)
Overture is stunning. I'm a little worried about buying a bottle since they repackaged it. Not sure how the new one is. Haven't been impressed with the releases since Chong left. Your Amouage collection is insane 🔥
Well...this certainly puts some perspective to your collection! I've only dipped my toe in on Amouage, Fate Woman came my way courtesy of a review by Pep. Love the bottle too ( I know🙄). Kind of reminds me of the original Lumiere by Rochas, has that iridescent sheen. Lovely perfume that is too, heavy like Poison but more floral ( Again another purchase for a girlfriend at the time). I agree with your Fragcom comment, the current state is in a dip. It's easy enough to unsub and look on with bewilderment at their popularity. I unsubbed at a recent 'Top ten compliment getters' Really? Shame because the production and content on some were good but I've had enough of the 'Algorithm chasers' This was really interesting and now Amouage is on my radar, really like the extra info you give on each frag, it's what 'We' search for, so thanks for that. Personally or selfishly from me just do what you want to do rather than judge by comments. This is your style, your channel and as long as you enjoy doing it then we are fortunate for you sharing. There's been quite a few in recent times who I follow and respect who have tailed off their content for whatever reason, which is a shame. But I/We understand this takes time and effort to do, but it is greatly appreciated. From this one alone I've got some homework to do! Looking forward to more. Sotd- Sables : Annick Goutal.
Love sables, another great immortelle scent. Just from personal taste i get more enjoyment out of sunshine man... but i could see how traditionalists who want something that more closely resembles the smell of natural immortell would prefer sables. Thanks so much for taking the time to write that lovely comment btw, i have a feeling if i make content i would want to watch everything else will fall into place. Plus i dont care about sub numbers and i am not doing this to be famous lol... i just decided that i am sick & tired of watching people who dont have the love or passion of fragrance that i have make these aweful videos that i watch and then get nothing out of... cheer mate & if you have any Amouages on your list you want me to focus on once i start doing individual reviews please let me know 🍻
haha! you are indeed de first one who says, it ! i also say many times i feel there is ambergris in it! just like encense mythique, poeple call me crazy but i trust my nose , such a beautifull creation , ill stack a backup bottle got almost all amouages, and ill start with the libary collection
I did get an ambergris note... that sparkly shine felt like ambergris to me.. although maybe I am just influence by the marketing and praying there is real ambergris in there due to the very lofty price tag 🙏
Nice reviews. What a huge collection. I’m going to check the brand out. Costco had a bunch for sale at around 200.00… I had no idea what to buy so I didn’t. I’m so intrigued. Mace and myrtle, chamomile…nice notes.
Thanks so much for these videos. I am aaaabsolutely enjoying every minute. Great collection, super interesting info. A breath of fresh air in today’s horrid fragcomm landscape :)
Just discovered your channel and I'm going through you back catalog of videos. I appreciate the in depth reviews and lack of silly "top ten panty dropper " content. Love Amouage, I have full bottles of Portrayal Woman and Imitation Woman, and a ton of decants. Thinking of getting Lyric Man next.
Nice welcome & glad to have you 😊 Thanks so much for watching & commenting ... never smelled portrayal woman or imitation woman ... lyric man is drop dead gorgeous on a woman... i will do a video one day of "msculine" perfumes that smell amazing on women 😊
Gold Man... I LOATHE it. First time I smelled it, got transported to my mother's beauty salon in the 80's, ladies sitting on thise chairs, drying their hair. UGH!! I don't think I can come around on this one. Same with Myths and that urinal stink. That said, I consider these masterpieces: JXXV, Honour, Overture, Interlude BI, Boundless, Memoir, Reflection, and Opus XIV Royal Tobacco.
@@RamseytheRam Thanks for your video and sharing! Gotta say, I did love Boundless. To me it seemed like a PdM Herod but with a sort of Pimento/pepper front first time I smelled it. I'm also not liking Meander, I got it a few days ago, needs some sweetness in my view. Newer Amouage not your cup of tea, I know. Cheers mate.
Great video. Love the channel! There are only a handful of frag RU-vidrs who have both knowledge and passion. Plenty of others seem promising until they play their hand and start hawking shit-tier clone houses they got for free… embarrassing 😂😂😂
Amazon video, I stuck through it all. Really enjoyed your passion cause that’s what you’ve got. I just ordered Reflection Man and I have smelled Memoir man and am planing on ordering. Which other do you recommend when starting Amouage? More like a signature scent?
Signature scent Amouage? Could be something like Bracken Man or Dia Man as I find both of them perfect for the office setting. Thanks for the kind words and support 🍻
@@RamseytheRam No on the contrary thank you for the passion to put out great content. Love how your genuine and as you said not after the bottles. Thank again for the recommendation and I will be subscribing to your channel my brother👍🙏🏻❤️
40 minutes of all Amouage nerd talk lol... most of these have been collected over the last 6 or 7 years ... I am so glad you R enjoying these videos Hub Zero 😊
@@hubzero8289 well i figured if I am going to do something i better do it all the way 😁 The individual reviews will take longer for me to break down... but these family portraits are easy... i will probably do another family portrait on Roja & Guerlain... and then show off the bottles i got from Mudassir over the last year or so & then hop into the individual reviews 🍻
Thanks for watching and commenting Bhaffar... from what i smelled because i had a mini of the silver cologne in the newer presentation it was basically the same fragrance 😊
Comin in hot with this 1st group of videos! Thought the same about Boundless. I really don’t like any of the newer releases post-Chong, aside from the 53 flanker (heard good things about the others as well, just insanely priced).
Big Amouage fan - for me I could trust them to release original or at least innovative fragrances for years. Always blind buy worthy. But like you said: not anymore. Very cautious of the new releases and their direction now. Shame. Ps: you should check out epic woman. Masterpiece to me
He Benji thanks so much for the rec on epic woman.. i hear it was zarokians first fragrance... i will put it on the never ending "to sniff list" 😊 thanks for watching and commenting
Hi Ramsey, have binge-watched quite a few of your videos now and must say: very nice collection and great content! Do give Jubilation 25 for women a sniff. I feel like you might enjoy it because it sits somewhere in the realm of Mitsouko and Rochas Femme. Beautiful chypre for sure and unless I’m missing something, it doesn’t really get talked about much.
Thanks so much for watching & commenting! Jubilation 25 for women is on my to sniff list... just never pulled the trigger... do you find it similar to Diaghilev??
@@RamseytheRam That’s a tough one. My memory of Diaghilev is about 5 years old and quite hazy. I think they are in the same family for sure. I remember you mentioning Diaghilev has a bit more of the animalics in comparison to Mitsouko. J25 has spices and a very pronounced cumin note. Btw, is your Femme the Olivier Cresp reformulation with the cumin? I remember it being quite old…
Yes my rochas femme is the olivier cresp reform... most on the mkt today are.. unless you get a bottle from 50 to 70 years ago you will be buying cresps re-imagining of the fragrance 🍻
Discovered your channel lately. love your long videos. Huge fan of Gold Man here. If I wanted to take Gold Man to the next level, what would you recommend (maybe a vintage one)? Greetings from London Marcello
Yes vintage non-magnetic cap or if you really want some crazy outside of the box thinking you could try and find a vintage bottle of Jean Patou Joy Parfum... that has this animalic floral quality that reminds me slightly of Gold Man 😊
Hello Ramsey, You have almost all the Amouage. Given a chance to pick only 5. Which one would it be? I recently bling bought interlude man looking at your video…absolutely love it. I’m planning to buy another which does not have similar dna like interlude. Which one would you recommend? Thanks
I’ve got Jubilation, Interlude, Figment, and Gold. My favorite is probably Jubilation. I’m not sure I like the direction this house appears to be going in
Hi Michael thanks for commenting... i totally agree with you on not liking the direction Amouage is going... flankers and lower quality so forth and so on... figment is one i could never wrap my head around...that wet earth or soil note was one i really struggled with... was it love at first sniff or did it have to grow on you?
@@RamseytheRam I’m not sure I love it. My wife despises it. I only wear it when she pisses me off or she’s out of town. The moldy earth smell is so strong. Something in it reminds me of Leather Oud too but I find that a lot easier to wear as hard as that is to believe. Thanks for these videos. Keep up the good work. Your channel is a breath of highly fragrant air
@@michaelnamikas8184 Thank you so much for the kind words. Wearing a fragrance your wife hates when she pisses you off is classic lol. I also would rather wear leather oud over figment man ... cheers mate 🍻
Ohhh thats a tough question because there are so many glorious fragrances created. I would probably start with the "classics" like Jubilation XXV , Gold Man, Epic Man & Dia man & interlude man... and then if you like the brand and asthetic you can branch out into the new stuff... i forgot to mention honor man because i have about 40 of the 2 ml sample packs not a full bottle but that is one of the weaker offerings.. its a pepper heavy fragrance.. but the classics have more of a "traditional" feel to them with olibanum & resins & myrhh so i would start there and then branch out to the newer ones like myths and imitation man etc... but thats just the way i would attack it... they also sell these mini packs that you can buy on the amouage website .. they arent cheap but you get a packet of mini bottles (they are actually really awesome mini bottles) and they have 2 different sets.. thats how i tried the whole brand originally... cheers and happy hunting 🍻
Man tx for video. Im Fan of Amouage. I own Gold, Dia, Epic, Portrayal and Figment. All Man. I Enjoy a lot. I have a chance blind buy tester bottle of Beloved and or Bracken. Which one u prefer more?❤from sunnuy Croatia Coast.
Ohhhhh thats a tough question... I love them both... Bracken is more classic fougere like Fougere Royal but with loads of clove & Beloved Man is more elemi & grapefruit with vetiver...its so posh... Beloved man is more modern & Bracken is more vintage 😊
@@RamseytheRam Man, today i recived Beloved man. I like it a lot, smell like Oriental spice Market. I could Eat it. The web shop offer only Bracken in tester bottle and im not shure will i like Bracken. Figment is still no. 1 in my Collection 🤣
Hey Ramsey, have you ever come across an Amouage bottle with the old style made in Oman printed text on the bottom of the bottle, but no name written on either the front or the sides? I’ve had a tester of lyric man for a while, which smells pretty spot on, but I’ve never seen a bottle like this. Also doesn’t have a collar for the cap, but I hear sometimes the testers don’t have that because they never get caps. Any insight would be appreciated
Yeah that & to be honest I am not happy with the direction the house of Amouage has went to since Chong left 😬 Not many Amouage bottles I want to own anymore that I dont already have you know 👍
@@RamseytheRam totally agree there. They’re just flanking, playing it safe and pushing ungodly priced attars and extraits. Though, I won’t lie, I’ll have to sample a jubilation extrait if they end up putting that out. With my luck though, they put out Jubilation eau fraiche and I’ll have to start sending them nasty emails.
