Amp Test Tuesday - MMATS Pro Audio 2000.1D - 2000 Watts RMS SMD AD-1 Amp Dyno

I always liked the old us 50hc and the 200hc very underated nasty amps

I had an old school dc1400.05 on two RE Audio 15" SX series @0.5 ohms. Never got hot, a bit warmer than ambient. Didn't need a alternator upgrade or even a cap. Added a 4.0 farad cap even though it only held 0.2vdc higher system voltage, after adding the capacitor. Wouldn't drop below 13.6vdc at idle. It was, BY FAR, the BEST sub amp I have ever used or seen, with a 1400w RMS output rating. The 15" RE Audo SX series subs, with dual 2ohm VC, were rated for 750w RMS/1500W MAX. The combination was great, pushed them hard for 16-20hrs nearly every day for 2-3yrs.

I have a pair of the d100hc. One daily used other as a backup.

Yep I saw a Chevy blazer like late 80s early 90s at the advanced audio store in gulf Port Mississippi in like 2003 maybe it's was a spl truck but it had 8 18 inch mmats juggernaut subs in it on the old mmats 1400s on each sub and I watched it break the steering column in this blazer it was f n gnarly it made a believer out of me lol

Most of Mmats amps are class D. They were one of the companies in the 90's that pioneered the class D amp.

Their subwoofer line is amazing too

Are the vintage 2000.1 with the wrinkle finish just as powerful or not ?

​@@derekquinones8614 No, it isn't. They have a 2000.05 that is designed for half ohm - same power at half ohm as this at 1ohm. I love the way Mmats does it. You buy the model amp that puts out the amount of power you need, and you chose the version of it based on how you'll be wired. These start at 600 and go up to 4k - though the 4k is a "competition only" amp, with no warranty, and not designed to pump 4k watts continuously. It Is basically the 3k without any protection. You'll kill it trying to push 4kw daily on it.

Timothy Hinton Well MMats amp's use very high end circuitry, all the components and circuit board are pure copper, it has no protection circuit as well, very efficient amp, that's why its so expensive.

@@SeanOMatic yeah i went to a local car audio store as a noob with a 4 grand spending limit and the guys there recommended this amp and two mmat monster 12s that are 1000 watts each. The problem is i can't upgrade my alternator on my jaguar xf easily anyway. There does exist a higher output alternator that'll work in my car but its a special kind and costs over 400 and that is a little to expensive. The box i got looks like crap but it works. I stuffed two body pillows in the box behind the subs and it increased sound quality some.

+chris Brown (King Tardis) That model is the .1. If you watch the video and pause on the manual it shows the different models and the one ending in .5 is rated for it, not this one...

+JASON JACKSON this amp can't do .5 ohm thats why they made a model specifically for half ohm use. Its the matts 2000.5d

+ThaDjSteps It can do it on music, but these amps are optimized to do a particular nominal impedance.

Mine does .5 ohms in my daily driver no problem
