Good review on the Ampeg portable line! I own the RB 210, it's 500 watts with a 8 ohm extension cab, 250 watts on it's own. I recommend the Portaflex cabs to match it. I think it is an excellent Amp, and fits my USA P Bass like a glove. Way better sound than the Fender Rumble in my experience with both amps.

☑ new to bass and know relatively squat about bass ; anyhoo did about four weeks online research and ended up with the ampeg RB-112 as great value for the low cost bucks and give it 🤙👍

At 6:10, Andy said that they were running the RB-110 through the DI. Then he mentioned the clarity of sound, and Helmut said that the amp has a 10” speaker and maybe that was why. Not complaining about the amp-I have an RB-112 and love it-but they should get their story straight. Maybe they should have put a mic on the amp for comparison with the DI. Later at 15:41 they discuss which amps can be gigged successfully. I play in a covers band that is not quiet but also not particularly loud, and I have found that my RB-112 does a really good job in bar gigs and even on outdoor stages. I usually plan on having to send a DI signal to the PA, but as yet I have not needed to do so. It’s a great little amp.

Thanks for your review, m'y guts tell me to go to the 112 but I'm scare to be a little short power wise. But the 115 without the cab is the same watts I reckon

Even though they were running through the DI for the recording, I assume *they* would have been only hearing the speaker in the room, so that’s the only sound they could have been commenting on. 🤷🏼

As a Drummer who is starting to dabble in bass and looking at which amp to go with I’m sold on the RB210! 🤟

Great review! I own the Fender Rumble Stage 800, the Rumble 25, the Ampeg RB 210, 112, and now the 115. Hands down Ampeg Rocket series over the Rumble. The tone and volume is on a higher level than the Rumbles (my opinion and experience). I have the RB 115 with the 115 Portaflex cab (LF) and this amp sounds amazing! In fact, to my ears it's "louder" than the RB 210 even hooked up with a cab. The 15's are incredibly good. However, without the cab hooked up the RB 115 seems to lack considerably in volume and the bass is not as pronounced if you are looking to use it as a stand alone. The RB 115 in my experience needs the cab to sound amazing.

Mmm. Try mic'ing up all the models. Then indicating when its mic'd, di'd or a combo. So people can get a handle on... What the mic alone sound is, di, then a combo. So people get half a clue of what the sound in real world use will be. More people might actually be curious to audition these amps to purchase if you did.
