Abilities Dance, whose vision is “to disrupt antiquated ableist beliefs and disseminate the value of inclusion through dance,” presents a commissioned film responding to the Gardner's special exhibition Titian: Women, Myth & Power. New choreography recenters diverse bodies to tell classic stories exploring themes of gender and representation.
Abilities Dance Boston dancers have diverse identities within and outside of the disabled community, which they bring to their co-choreographic creations with Founder and Executive & Artistic Director Ellice Patterson. Musical scores by Director of Music Andrew Choe and Composer Erin Rogers. This is the full length film; a short highlights reel is available for viewing.
A segment of the film explores themes of rape, trafficking, and abuse.
