Getting up from the floor is both a challenge and a fundamental skill for amputees! It’s something that must be practiced on a regular basis if you desire functional independence as a full-time double above-knee prosthetic user 😃
Getting up off the floor is a TOTAL BODY EXERCISE for double above-knee amputees!
You need strength these areas: upper body (to hold yourself up while you get your legs underneath), core (to keep everything safe and stable), and glutes (to help actually bring you from bent over to upright).
