Socket design. You can fit the Otto Bock liner directly into the the hard socket without using the inner liner/insert and still use the LimbLogic VS. Why use the inner liner? Without it you would save bulk and maybe increase range of motion. I've never heard the claim that the textured interface of the inner liner increases surface bearing. Look forward to your reply. I'm all ears and happy to learn.
G8 video is there a comparison diagram for users? e.g. I use the suspension sleeve alone but, in the last few years the ones I've tried keep rolling as I sweat. I want to try the interlocking system. However, I need to be informed so I could convince my prosthetic tech to install it. He is old fashion.
I have the pins system, which I'm very happy with but I do know what you're talking about with the callous. I may look into this vacuum system, but for me it all comes down to money. I don't know what took me so long to find this site but I just want to thank you.
Hi Christina, I had a motorcycle accident in May this year & lost my left leg below the knee. I was very lucky & got a new prosthetic leg 2 months ago. I'm now being fit for a new leg as my leg has changed greatly. You were terrific answering the questions I had with your YOU-TUBE VIDEOS. I haven't seen much of you lately, thanks & I hope you are doing well. BTW, I got a new motorcycle & it's great to be out riding again, thanks, bill
Bill Pitt hello Bill I'm also a left leg amputee trying to come up with a viable way to shift my motocross bikes I thought about the healing toe shifter and was wondering how will this work for you?
I got this leg after seeing this video I got in contact willow wood who make my vacuum pump for my prostatic leg about a year ago now and told them I think app on my iPhone would be better than a key Fob and they told me they will put it to the development team they have developed the app for iOS
My late friend and colleague, Hans Ulrich Rudel lost the lower part of his leg on the Eastern Front 1944. He was fitted with a vacuum operated leg and carried on flying his Stuka. Later he developed dive-bombers in Argentina. And that was that long ago...but it had a manual exhausting pump.
The movement he describes is giving me callouses and wounds. I am now getting my first Elevated Vacuum leg (ems) thanks to seeing this video. I tried the Harmony/Triton and it felt like I was walking on a slab of plywood. Staying with the Rush foot. Elevated Vacuum made the leg feel SO LIGHT, not pendulous. Thanks.
A remote control leg...just like that dude in Texas Chainsaw 4, nice! The only drawback I see is, U'd B in trouble if caught in a leg trap, least if ya lose the remote.
Way cool! I thought a joke about "You're pulling my leg, but don't. Seriously don't it will come off." but Jared's wont. Really cool and I am just getting fitted for my 3rd pin socket, I got a chance to use a suction or valve/vacuum (not like his, more like your running blade) and it is tearing my upper thigh up so back tot he pin.
Dragging Jared around by his prosthetic leg was hilarious. If you tried to do that with another retention system, would that have resulted in the leg coming off?
You might, but if you have a good fit in any system, your leg is going to be pretty secure. The key is having that good fit and wearing your prosthesis properly. I can hang upside down in my pin/lock system, it just doesn't feel as secure. The least secure suspension would be something like one that you just slide into with a sock and are held in place by the socket wrapping around your knee. Those come off pretty easy, but are mainly for K2 ambulators.
First off hello I am Glenn I would like to say thank you to you ,for all your information you share .I have to go today for the trial fit...but I am starting to watch all of your videos .........to learn my main????s to you and your buddy with his vacuum leg is this I still have not did therapy yet.I do go maybe I n two weeks tho .but starting out how is the pain Chris....thank you guys and God bless....
so... that was pretty cool. I have a prosthetist that told me he could laminate a design on my new leg, however, from this video it looks like I will have an outer sleeve... I ordered a custom laminate sleeve from Fredslegs.com that set me back 66 bux and its on the way. I am not very happy with my prosthetist. Such a cool design but apparently from this video it would be covered by the outer sleeve? or is there a vacuum leg that now that does not have an outer sleeve?
I just got the limblogic elevated vacuum system today and I LOVE IT! It feels so natural... like it is a part of me! No more distal end problems I'm hoping!
