Yup, manual bin collection is just a daily procedure here for all drivers. Thats the only reason I did the in car shot... otherwise I cant stand those clips. The neat thing is whatever is in the manual bins, tells who will collect them. You can set 2 out with greenwaste and 2 out with trash and some with obvious recyclable type materials in them, and each will be collected by the correct trucks.
Not sure what it is about this truck, but I really like it. Hope you do too.

An now the audio is right on spot, but it doesnt start on time in 2 clips.. its always something....

Outstdaning video! I know this nothing considered too rare, but this is definently one of the best waste industry videos that I have seen in quite a while! The cloudy weather really makes for a great shot, and the fact that the arm bounces the carts is even more exciting. Also it was nice to see some manual bins (and that 32g EVR II) getting Amrep'd. I am suprised that they don't give residents who use manual bins decals to mark the container's contents.

@WMmaster626 this truck has been here for a while now, Santa Clarita got rid of these about a year ago now. This yard doesnt get much new stuff, the older trucks cycle through here before retiring. Desert yards like here, Santa Maria and others get older trucks more often than not. With a few new ones here and there. thanks

@reyflow8 he does that on purpose I am pretty sure. Its just a way to shake the cart without repeatedly slamming it. Leaf spilling? Doesnt matter when the streets are covered in leaves any way lol that sound was the back-up beeper being broken. All 4 trucks we filmed here had broken back-up beepers.

@mtr82952 I personally dont like the video as much since I was shaky as hell in several clips, but I appreciate the kind words always! The manual bin thing is kind of like a low-key thing. Its not advertised, but if you decide to set them out one day, they will always be emptied. Kind of like an easter-egg in a video game haha and I am pretty sure thats a 48 toter, but I could be wrong. It looked too old to be a 32. If its is a 32 I'm going back! lol

that sign must be associated with Santa Clarita somehow. The Consolidated pythons had them, they did SC, and this truck has it, it used to do SC. But then again it doesn't say anything about SC on it, only LA county. I also really like the new style big rubber rings on these grippers.

@JaccobDalton all 4 trucks we filmed here had broken back-up beepers. Yea, not many drivers operate that way since not all trucks allow it. Not sure if its supposed to do that or not, but its a more gentle way of shaking carts that I like watching.

I think this one was scrapped with the old pete and the WhiteGMCs. Could be wrong though.

Awesome video !! The ex la trucks will probably still be working very hard for another 20 years The Ex LA I found there was collecting yardwaste the the driver got scared when I was filming him

@3amrepmike3 I did not even notice the shaky camera (probably because I was too fosuced on the carts bouncing to care) Well that is very cool that they are willing to do that. I thought 32 only because the bib looks more flat like on the 32, but it is probably is a 48.

The grippers seem to bounce when the carts hit the hopper lol, he has to kinda force it down to prevent leaf spillage...which happened a lot! What was that sound at 4:37? Sounded like a bird, maybe a hawk.... Great footage!

@ksb0909 YUP! I saw that when filming lol I was surprised it wasnt removed. It also has the city of Santa Clarita seal logo picture thing whatever its called, on the street side of the hopper. I guess those arent easy enough to be seen for them to care. Or that they are still pretty close to SC still so they dont care perhaps. This truck has been in this yard for a while now so its not like they just havnt gotten around to it yet. lol

@WasteManTony I absolutely HATE the larger rubber pads on the grippers. They only have them on these trucks fro the manual bins, better surface area on the cans. Yea, Sc reuires haulers to have the City logo on the trucks that service it. Almost all Burrtec and Advantage trucks have the logo as well.

@ksb0909 nah, those trucks are more painful to watch than they are worth to me lol way too slow, no revving and they are everywhere too. So I never film those trucks. I stick to old trucks more often than not

@3amrepmike3 haha ok cool. Palmdale must have quiet a few of SCV old trucks and carts. Did they have any other Octos on anything other than a Volvo?

I was wondering when was the last time you guys went out to Palmdale area. I remember Alex mentioned something to me a couple months back but I don't remember how long ago exactly. Anything interesting out there (any Diesel Octos perhaps)? I saw a tri-axle Volvo WXLL Amrep in their yard on Maps. Wonder if that's still there. Seems like the only interesting thing out there is the Autoreach(es). I'd like to see/film those one of these days. This is still one of the best Amrep videos on RU-vid. Awesome job on this one.

as far as i know we only have Macks and Autocars out here the volvo's whhere sent to Cal city or scrapped.

@legodude24652 on the roof lol you seen LA's volvos everywhere. All of the UPW trucks are volvo or whitegmc from LA, waste resources is too, most of burrtecs are and so on. lol whats unique is finding non la city volvos out here.... theres far less of those lol

@WasteManTony I cant stand the way they look. I think its repulsive how they are larger than the gripper itself lol I dont like any gripper with a wider pad or belt in comparison to the gripper itself. Just a personal preference.

love at 1:27 how he lets all the stuff fly out!! amazing!! beautiful volvo just love how he lets the lid flap around in the hopper a few times before bringing it back down. i never knew that amreps were capable in collecting those manual bins, i guess its really those rubber pads to help it. great shot towards the end of both of the trucks on the street, its funny because ones really fast and the other is as slow as it could be :D Great video, great truck, shots and all around great job!!!

Sadly just one month after this vid was published they scraped all the volvo's and replaced them with Autocars. I miss the old Volvo's!

@100Burrtec100 drivers here get scared because this WM division films their drivers and gets them in trouble for the slightest fuck-ups. If you film WM here, talk to the drivers first or they will be afraid of being fired the whole time. They think your out to get them in trouble
