So good to see Cascavel getting some love. It may be my fave track, certainly top 5. Nice elevation changes, fast sweeping turns, good flow and now looking better than ever. Don't recall watching you racing it before, you did pretty well exchanging elbows with the AI.

As all your vids that Ive seen are in vr so I'm guessing you'd be the best to understand things and pass them on to people like me who haven't a clue how to start with vr and setting it up ! or is it that easy ?... Rift s is a perfect start, setting up is simply download the oculus software, plug in the Rift S and follow the the on screen guide, you'll be done in undert 5 minuets! If you have AMS2 select medium on all the graphics settings, turn off detailed grass, and set frame rendering to 1.........sit down and hit start! @hereward1971 Thanks 👍... I'll have a mess about, ill figure it out. Yes I have AMS2, I still love the original "Game stockcar", which I wind up every now and then as the FFB is raw, I think it's one of the best still, but I'm from a PC age of GTR1-2-Legends upwards and where visuals was last on the want list haha.. so VR is where I'd like to be with a few old and new titles, albeit if can run the newer games satisfactory. I just want to trial it out for that immersion prospective, and if it's what I think it will be, then I'll be more than happy.
When the update dropped I felt that my VR quality was slightly worse. I even checked the graphicsconfig... file hadn't been overwritten by the update (it hadn't) so I'm going to compare my settings with yours, see if anything has changed. Is there a way of viewing your frame rate in VR, save me keep taking the mask off?
If your on an oculus open the debug toolkit you can throw a frames counter up inside the headset. I noticed mugello in the rain with headlights on wasn't tripping my fps up (it normaly did without the rain and headlights) so I ramped up track detail and both particle effects upto max from medium on a track that had the new textures ect and it was rock solid..........graphics card and headset variables might (will, lets be honest) give different results. But I'll stick my neck out and say it has improved and given its the best optermised vr racing sim already.........
I do see a drop in performance in VR. I noticed with the new update, even MSAA on medium and high made zero difference on performance Had to lower my resolution in order to play
They did say there was "very little impact to performance" but an impact is an impact so it should be lower performance, however I find I have slightly better performance.........I'd say from the comments its about a 50/50 split on what folk are seeing but with PC it's tricky and is down to the hardware you run, the changes are favouring some spec and not others it seems
also im sure you're aware of the racing life companion app for a career mode but i just found a more in depth one on race department if you have any interest. Its called " For the win" career companion app. There's nothing i want more for AMS2 than a career mode. Multi-player is kinda trash so you'd think it would be much better since they've wasted no time or resources on a career mode. Hopefully they choose to do one or the other soon..
@@hereward1971 is that the racing life one or another one I don't know of? like I said I'm desperate for a good career mode I don't do multi-player I strictly race offline. It's too toxic in lobbies for me lol
@hereward1971 ok yes I forgot all about race craft online I'm a member but never got past a practice session. I haven't found a race with more than 2 real racers in it but is that because I have the lowest license available?
@hereward1971 I was apart of Metzvr community when he 1st started but I'm not very good without the assists like tc abs and sc so I was crashing too much and ruining races lol hence why I do offline and looking for a career mode. All good guys in Metzvr community but of course they dont like getting crashed into so I got asked nicely to leave lol
I also have a 1080ti now with my Quest 3... 😪Gave my 4090 to my nephew for passing his GSCEs 🤷🏻♂️ What are your settings, can you "quick screen flash" us the settings screens on the next video.... pleaseeeee😎
@@hereward1971 V-sync will apply to you headset as well. Basically cuts your framrate down to the nearest 15 fps and sometimes cuts it in half. It might be worth testing your set up and do a small recording with V-sync off just to make sure you don't get screen tearing on your recording. But it could be a big boost for performance for you
I'll give it a try but my mutant 1080ti is performing above expectations......If I get more frames "I'll go t' foot of our stairs" which is a wigan thing (translation to English/ I'll be exceptionaly impressed) Cheers for the info bud
@@hereward1971 bloody hell that's a saying isn't it 😂 I've found ams2 to be quite forgiving in terms of frames, similar to Pcars 2 in that way. For me it was only ever grass detail and particles that made it go to shit
OK tried it, and yes it gave me a bit more, pumped shadows, reflections and enviroment up from medium to high (v sync off) same track same conditions, 80fps for about 80% of the time with 2 points in the track dropping to 60fps......probubly drop the .......... But I want ALL the eye candy now PMSL

i had just fooled around with the oculus tool tray and got it looking its best I've ever had it but now im not sure if its what i did or reizas improvements lol either way im much happier with the resolution
@@hereward1971 yea its definitely better I can read the braking signs on the side of the road in bathhurst. If you recall we spoke before about everything being so blurry for me in VR, it wasn't today that's for sure lol
@@hereward1971 I use 4080 and use 120fps in Quest 3 with 2.0 SS and it runs smooth. When it rains or gets dark it goes to 60fps, which is nice. Way better than 90/45
