WHAT!! Only 2000 subscribers! I believe every diesel vehicle owner should do your course. I have had an interest in this field for a long time. You have a very good way of explaining quite complex matters. Thank you and I hope many more people understand what this new emission systems have done to the legendary Diesel engines. I had SO many problems with the regeneration (or no regeneration clogging the DPF), that I almost turned my back on diesels altogether. Now with EGR fix and DPF fix, no more problems. 👍

ACD is a super oil and it has a very robust additive package. The rating is CI-4+ for diesels and SL for gasoline engines. Newer cars and trucks require SM or SN ratings that lower the zinc and phosphorus content to protect the catalytic converter. This is not a real problem for Amsoil synthetics but it is the law according to the EPA. Your warranty could be affected so it is probably not a good idea to get in conflict with the warranty. The ACD is a stronger anti-wear oil.

Awesome videos! Which diesel oil would you recommend for my situation? I have a 07 6.0 powerstroke with no egr and I drive it maybe 15k a year. I have been hesitant on running extended oil changes due to these motors shearing oils down. What would be a safe drain interval to start with without an oil analysis given my truck is used to tow primarily? Thanks!

Watching your videos here in year 2019! Thanks for all the great info. I just picked up my brothers 2004 lb7 duramax I’m definitely going to run amsoil and thanks to your videos I know which one the CI4+. But I have a question on diesel fuel additives I’m stuck between amsoil or optilube products I’ve seen a independent Lubricity test and optilube came out on top while I think amsoil was in the lowest rankings. Any input on this ?

I run OptiLube XL with Archoil 6500 in my 6.0 Power Stroke. It’s the best combo for lubrication, cetane, cleaning, improved combustion as both product do different things. I think if you wanted to run just one product the OptiLube Summertime would give you the best bang for your buck.

Have you proven this on your own with oil analysis?

Considering all this new technology with the modern after treatment systems, DPF, Regen etc. What about using the SAE 30 diesel oil that meets 10W30 spec? My oil test reports show less wear metals with ACD over the signature series 0W30 oil used in a gas engine.

Hi Don , So I’m new to the Diesel world . I just bought a 2011 Duramax I would like your opinion on what oil to run and which concentrate you think I need as you say in your vids. I live in California Thanks, Heber

hi Dan I learn something new from watching your youtubes, particularly the meaning of CJ-4 and CI 4+. I've own a bmw e46 320d turbo diesel. I have replaced the EGR with a EGR bypass/ delete and also replace the DPF with a downpipe or decat. Im currently using a voltronic touring turbo oil with has an extended oil change of 9,300miles. So I heard from this video that without the DPF I can extend the oil change to 3 times which is about 27,900miles. is that possible? Please correct me if Im wrong as I've in dilemma in choosing the correct oil for my engine.

Sir, very Respectfully, your presentation, since I guess you were talking to a sales' force, and thru my Android, I could hear an echo the more I raised the volume, really left me totally confused! Call me stupid, maybe simple-minded, I will even admit to being "feeble minded" on these points you were making. Here is my predicament. I inherited a 2016 NISSAN Titan XD, with a 5.0L diesel engine. I inherited the payment-books that go with it too, but that's another story. With that diesel 5.0L engine in my truck, which AMSOIL oil product should I seek? The manual calls for a 10W30 oil. Now, do I have that "particulate filter"; I am guessing so because my truck has that additional blue-capped filler alongside the green-capped fuel-filler. Do I have the "gen" problem that you were speaking of: yes, however, I do not know which type. And, yes, I also want to be a "happy camper"! What was that fuel additive you were talking about, and would AMSOIL recommend it for my diesel-motor truck. My truck has approximately eight hundred miles on its odometer, and it still has its original oil. I want to change the oil ASAP, so that I can start my own maintenance record on this vehicle. This vehicle doesn't get used much, as it was bought on 10/2016 and barely has 800 miles. Now, I want for that engine to last me well after the payments end, contrary to what NISSAN my want! So, can you please help me with your best advise on oil AMSOIL oil for a diesel truck, and maybe for an oil filter? Thank you, Sir.

Oscar, yes you have a DPF but the good new is you have an SCR system that uses Urea. There is an excellent 10W-30 in a new line of Amsoil diesel oils that will be perfect for you truck. Email me at danwatson@thelubepage and I will send you info and pricing and availability. You can also reach me at www.thelubepage.com

Don't feel bad, dude don't even know that emissions are FEDERAL so removing egr, dpf, etc is illegal ANYWHERE in the usa... run normal oil whatever your manual calls for.

bg676, If you do not have EGR or DPF then you should use Amsoil 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine oil (CI-4+) stock number AME. This oil is designed to go 15,000 miles in severe duty which includes towing. We have been selling this oil for many years and I can assure you it will not shear back. I personally use this oil in my 2005 Duramax diesel delivery truck. Contact me via the website you see flashed on the screen in the video and i will give you more info and how to buy at wholesale

Isuzu is stipulating CH to be sure to sue an oil that has high zinc and phosphorous. The CJ-4 oils are limited to 800 ppm and the CH-4 can be much higher. I would recommend CI-4+ which replaces CH-4 and has additional properties to better handle the soot loading from the EGR system. Contact me via my website thelubepage and I can send you some technical info on the oil.
