Hi Paul, Amsterdam looks a lovely city to visit ... I remember it from that detective series on tv ... going back a few years 😃 The canals and boats look lovely with the backdrop of autumn colours. I love to see the different architecture in different parts of the world and here is particularly significant for me as there are many Dutch architectural influences in Lincolnshire. There are quite a few examples of those funny shaped (technical term 😀) gables, they look wonderful. What really made me feel at home was all those bikes haha just like my school days ... long time ago too 😃😆😃 Nice city worth a visit one day 😊

Nice walkabout Paul! It's a city I'm very familiar with as I used to visit a lot when I was younger (seven times to be precise). One thing you can't capture on screen is the smell (green, if you know what I mean). Looked great with the autumn foliage. And surprisingly, not too busy. A few bikes here and there but my memory was of trams and bikes and pedestrians attacking you from all angles. I guess that's the influence of the aforementioned green stuff. ATB mate 🎅🎄

Hi Matt, the smell of wacky backy is probably worse in the town where I live. It would give Amsterdam a run for its money anyway. But you're right the smell is pretty rife in a lot of spots. Pity people can't get a whiff of it on the video as it might help with my watch hours with people wanting to get high on the fumes 😂 There were lots of bikes and I was very surprised I didn't get taken out by at least one the whole time I was there. Sorry we missed the prem Paul, was out for my Mums birthday last night, enjoyed this with my morning breakfast today. Those Autumn colours are stunning. Looks like an early cold walk this one, not too many peeps about yet. Yikes spoke too soon, it’s very crowded! Ah the rainfall very atmospheric. Some cracking down the canal shots lined with trees from the bridges, id be grabbing stills from those. ❤

Mr Hermit how did you fare with all these people out and about! Oh my! I was out with the Grands Grinch shopping today so I had to miss this long walk around Amsterdam! Sorry bout that! All those bicycles 😮 Amazing! At first I was thinking 🤔 don’t these people know about cars😃then they started showing up! Hi Donna, well i prefer to be walking amongst all those people over shopping. I hate shopping 😂 Lots of bicycles and I'm surprised I didn't get taken out by one whilst there. There's not too much room for cars in the centre of Amsterdam and bike is the better option. I'm keeping back my amazing scenery and crunching noise walk videos until early in the New Year when all this Christmas nonsense is over with 😂 People will then be hopefully thinking about trips away and might even view the videos. Lovely walk Paul. Did you have a specific area you wanted to discover or was it a random walk? You had lovely weather despite the wee shower. The trees looked lovely along the canals. I've watched while also keeping my eye on the comments from the premier. So sorry I wasn't there. Cyclists own the city as you will have experienced. And the cars with blue number plates, they are taxis and the drivers also own the road and footpath is they have to. There are numerous 'bus stops ( for the canal boats) so you can hop on hop off so to speak. To actually get into the Anna Frank house it's easier ( well sort of) to purchase tickets online. That's a wee bit faster queue. Thanks for taking me on your walk. Amsterdam is pretty but to me not the most beautiful city but I am biased as I can visit Amsterdam any time I like. Next trip- maybe Den Bosch or Leiden. So much history there and bikes and canals 🤣🤣! Have a wonderful festive week Paul. 🇳🇱🧑‍🎄🇳🇿🎄🌟

Hi Anita, I was meeting a friend for lunch so was just wandering randomly around that area. I think the cafe was called New Dutch where I had salmon, I think. And yeah I'm surprised I didn't get taken out by a cyclist whilst there cos I didn't always walk where I should. I did enjoy the city and didn't do any boat trips down the canal but did take the ferry across to the lookout. I wasn't too bothered about the Anne Frank museum. I'm not a massive fan of museums and figured it would be full of people 😂I will have to see if I can fit a trip in next year to Den Bosch or Leiden.
