Not a lot or Airbrushing to demonstrate in this build. It's still a very fun project, but one I quickly started to realize was becoming more complex as it got bigger.... Let's hope I can get this guy mounted...
Yeah, getting the droid to stand just right was a headache all in it's own. I did find that the legs could widen a little bit by using a little force. My build is getting uploaded as of writing this. Well part 1 at least. Really nice job on the end result. -John
I find it really confusing that AMT never really designed this figure to fit on the STAP, it's all guess work left for the modeler. Still, that was the only frustrating part of a fun build :)
Have you tried rubber cement to get off the mask? Put on rubber cement on the mask. A small dab is good to start. Then as you take off the rubber cement off and rolling it into a ball it takes off the mask off the part. Wash and wipe it off your fingers with water.
+stevethefishdotnet Yeah, I keep forgetting to buy some Testors Rust paint. I am, but I don't think I'll get it, I've got a lot to build, including the X-wing, of the Bandai ships I'll probably get the Y-wing, I don't know why but I really like that model :D
Hello Ricardo, do you mean the Brown base coat? If so, the Mineral spirits only effects the oil paints. Which is the back paint. Most of the paints I use are acrylic, so the enamel paint doesn't stick to the acrylic. I try and use an acrylic gloss like Future floor polish, this helps keep the underlying paint protected as well assist in removing the excess enamel.
