With just a few days left before the deadline for the Model Car Mafia Club build, We fell down the rabbit hole of scratch building!
After being inspired by a build from Freddie at HTown hobby. we tried to make a smuggling compartment on our slammed K5.
I feel we are super close to getting it perfected. I know we won't make the deadline, however! we will get it as done as we can.

Really nice work there BG! Freddie was a great builder/artist. I saw that Chevy pickup in person and it was a nice clean piece. You’ve done well with that inspiration. Can’t wait to see more… ✌🏽😎👍🏾

Looking really good Bryan. Nice touch with the secret - not so secret gun stash. A good engine with a low profile oil pan that would look really good in Project LowClass would be one from like a c6 Corvette. You'll need to get a trans for that engine though.

Howdy! Great advice on the engine Marc. I am still in flux as to what we will end up doing. I had thought right now i have a small block engine on the way from a friend. We'll see how that goes. =)

@@BGsModelWorkshop Awesome! There is plenty of room in the engine bays of those full size trucks to take a normal small block and raise it up enough to clear that low stance you will have the truck sitting at, and still be tucked under the hood.

Thank you!! I borrowed the idea from all those compact cars in the 1979's where they had a fuel tank behind the rear sear over the differential.

I wouldn't put the gas cap in the middle. That's a long reach - on a real truck the pump would dribble gas all over everything. I would choose a side (on top of course to stay with your idea). A racing or Dodge fuel cap might be cool. If you want symmetry add a cap on each side (dual tanks - sort of). 👍

Hi Dale, I don't think so. i decided to fill the filler door and add a filler cap on the top of the tread plate cover. Should be ok to do that since it looks more and more like i wont add the roof.
