Love it. Beautiful build. I really enjoy your passion for the hobby. Makes me want to build even more. Keep up the great build reviews, they are my fave. Fantastic job weathering
Awesome video! I think you have an incredible eye for detail, and a real talent for building!!! WOW!!! I'm so glad you do these videos!!! I watch every video that I have a kit of! Lol! If I remember right, the trailer has two levels inside, and a shoot going to the top deck.
I am so glad you did NOT do one thing. The first row of the larger air hole/ rectangles is butt high to cattle. Some cattle have done their duty out that hole because of the stress of the movement and possibly knowing what is at the end of the trip. At 16 years old I worked at my dad's truck stop. I was the pressure washer operator and I only washed one; it was "new" to the guy and he wanted to get the exterior cleaned up, which was pointless in many respects. Hydrofluoric acid was used on the aluminum sides, and since the corrosion was so deep in the aluminum it did not clean up so well. I have an indellable memory of manure running down the side of the freshly powerwashed sections. It was not ready to go the any truck show, but the guy was more than happy with getting most of the blackened corrosion back to "white". Fun times. Great job on the kit.... And the weathering!
Trailer floors on bull haulers are usually silver aluminum, but they will turn brown soon enough. When I built mine, I put a cord on the sliding back door, just for show.
Good looking build Chris, I don't see myself building a trailer like this but if I did I would probably torture myself by painting the horizontal slats on the sides a wood tone with steel vertical supports (even though they should all be aluminium) and then rusting and weathering everything.
When i hauled cattle in the 70s my trailer was verry clean we washed out every week and when we went into Mexico you couldnt come back into texas without the trailer and truck being real clean.
I watch your videoes and love them they got me back into building again it would be cool if you could find some scale livestock and put inside the trailer
Hello,Great work chris im going to have to get one ,i have the mack cruise liner that would prob hook right up to this.there again i enjoye your reviews.😃
well Chris great trailer!!! Your weathering is out of this world... i have to tell u we really r thinking a like my friend, i did the bulldozer because of u then i just bought the Autocar and my next project was this cow trailer i call it buddy. i think I'm going to follow u on this one and try the weathering project. thanks for yur videos they really help me out bro. God bless and keep them coming my friend. 👍
Here in Illinois we have a brand store called Rural King farm supply. They have a toy area for kids. They carry a line of different small farm and ofher animals that would be perfect for that. They are reasonable in their prices to. 👍🖒 I enjoy every video you post.
nice job only think I do on those type of wheels is I Always paint the hubs one color and then the wheels get painted white. In your model I'd went with black hubs due to your frame being black. they would have been that way from the factory when new then the wheels white. That really makes the hubs stick out from the white wheels.
Thank you! With all the holes in the sides it would be hard to get decals on it in a large format. I'm not sure I've seen a cattle hauler with logos on the side, but I'm sure someone has painted them on.
Wondering about the mud flaps. Are there rubber molded flaps available, aftermarket? Have you seen rubber flaps supplied, ever? Since they mold rubber tires, I think it would really add to the detail having rubber flaps too.
woow- ya had me thinking, d they MAKE 1/25 scale animals, or would you just eyeball them and use your best jugdement... I'd tend to think some of the Schleich collectable animals would work.
My best guess would be model railroading supplies, like Preiser Figures Inc, but that scale would be whack. O scale is still only 1:48, but G (garden) scale is 1:25
Any of the AMT kits are fine. They make a huge variety of cabovers, conventionals,Van's,reefers, tankers, flatbeds and a dump trailer and Revell has a car hauler which is a bit more involved.
Unfortunately I think a lot of sites loose sales because of the 8.00-10.00 s/h in a single model . Amazon prime 2 bucks cheaper and free shipping. It’s hard to pay 10-12 bucks more per model 😂😂
Yes I do, I've built a few on here. You'll have to search my channel from the 'about' page to find them. I've done the Mayflower and HMS Victory in the past year.
Why would I show off models stored in boxes or sitting at friends and family's houses across the nation when every model has it's own video on this channel already? Thanks man!
hpiguys Workshop I have all my finished models sorted by make models and year in a huge display case. Put like custom lights in it, that’s pretty much why I build them, just so I can sit down and just look at the art
Because in the real world most heavy trucks are work vehicles, not show vehicles. I like to make fancy stuff sometimes too, but I have a like for the workhorses.
The real world kinda sucks if you ask me, so I'd rather have models that impress me, instead of getting by with the base-models. I dunno about you, but a white trailer looks boring as hell to me. Where's the creativity? Where's the sense of style? The blue-collar mandate is kinda silly. Slaves that take pride in their chains are not worthy of respect.
The thing about model kits is, when you buy yours you can build it the way you want to. There is no 'mandate'. Your slave comment is absurd and ignorant. People build their kits the way they want to. Just because I didn't make it a big bright glossy show truck with chrome and high gloss the way YOU want it made doesn't mean that I'm a slave or blue collar. Lighten up man. It's a toy model. Go build a model and have a nice time making it the way you like it to look. This is a hobby. You're taking it way way way way way way too seriously.
