This is hilarious. I got one, did the exact thing you did, and concluded like you that I didn't know what any of that stuff meant. Lol. Btw, I didn't get a code, but I do have a coolent evaporation issue, which is why I bought the code scanner.
I just purchased this one on Amazon as well. I got mine for $22.00 W/Shipping! I can't believe this little scanner and does so much for the money Amtifo wants for it! They sell other stuff too. I found the same code on my Aunt's 2010 Ford Fusion SEL. This same recall was supposed to be fixed by Ford and it is showing that same EVAP Large Leak. I think the Ford dealer charged her $170.00 a year ago. I did it for free and the cool thing is I can fix anything that has wheels. I was taught early on how to fix and repair VWs. Then I went on to English cars like Jaguar and Bentley! Now, those cars are very aggravating to R & R. Also, parts are hard to find for the older models for the most part.
I'm not an expert but I am guessing this is not working with your trucks configuration for some reason. Maybe try it on another persons car/truck and make sure it's not broken?
I bought the sa e one, but when I erase a code, it says erase failure.. I go back, and there are no codes... did I do it right? Lol I need a smog check
