An Amtrak passenger train on Wednesday hit two unoccupied cars on the tracks near the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Beryl Road in Raleigh. Before 1:30 p.m., the train tracks were blocked by multiple emergency vehicles, and Sky 5 showed at least one car with serious damage. A spokesperson from Amtrak said Train 75 traveling from Raleigh to Charlotte hit two vehicles obstructing the tracks. Ninety-two passengers were on board, but no one was injured, Amtrak said. The crash is under investigation.
