Gonna be on this route in March 2024 for spring break going to El Paso from Houston. Love what I'm seeing so far. Seems way more relaxing than driving. Can't wait

Enjoyed seeing a good bit of West Texas! The first segment 0:01 to 3:35 includes Mallie siding which is 505.5 rail miles west of San Antonio. The second segment from 3:35 onward includes the former crew-change point of Sanderson which is 295.1 rail miles west of San Antonio. Amtrak stops at Sanderson although there is no longer a depot (torn-down about 2014 or thereabout).

Additional info regarding elevation: Mallie = 4,377 Ft; Sanderson 2,780 Ft.

Thanks for posting this and your other videos. I rode this route in 2013, and was fascinated by the huge expanse of open country. Doesn't look like much has changed!
