Amtrak #184 wearing phase 4 heritage colors and leading a train by itself seems normal. Until it hit an excavator and derailed and suffered major damage to its front. It still holds up but #184 now requires major repairs. The excavator punched a huge hole in #184. Amtrak #184 needs repairs. Gustavtime can repair the damage caused by the excavator.

Breaking News. Amtrak train #4 the eastbound Southwest Chief derailed after striking MOW escavator just east of Trinidad Colorado. Operator was killed on impact. Engineer was lifeflighted to Denver with possible life threatening injuries. Several passengers and crew recieved minor to moderate injuries. It would appear that MOW foreman failed to get track warrant from dispatcher prior to sending escavator operator to work. NTSB enroute to investigate

R.I.P. Amtrak #184. 2001-2023. The Phase IV heritage unit is now scrapped after accident with excavator.

Seems like the locomotive needs some major repairs after hitting the excavator, pity about the driver of the excavator. A lack of situational awareness did the driver of said excavator in.
