This is a video I made of Amtrak train The Silver Star with my friend engineer blowing the horn over 20 times at me when he went by. Lots of sound action in this one. Wake up the neighborhood.
Beautiful! I miss that sound. Having lived near RR most of my life. I was 3 yrs old, I remember my dad teaching me to listen to the rhythm and the horn and not be frightened. He taught me songs about the railroad. My adult son appreciates the melody of a train. Horn and engine and clickety-clack. My son was 3 yrs old when we rode the SilverStar from Deerfield Beach, Fl to Grand Central Station, NY. We had a single cabin and a single seat in a car so he could experience both. My son said to me “don’t talk mom, let me feel the feel” and he would press his hands on the seat next to him and close his eyes. I still live near RR crossing. These days there are no horns, only the clickety-clack without the horn. Thanks for sharing.
