@@unknownguy7112 I'm currently up to volume 9, and she gets promoted to lieutenant colonel and is given a "kampfgroupen" which is an army group made up of mages, infantry, artillery, and tanks. The fighting in te east continues despite "russia" taking such heavy losses. Fake England makes continuous bombing runs at the empire's manufacturing areas. The empire wins another magnificent victory against fake Russia, nearly destroying their entire main army despite being heavily outnumbered. Fake Italy volunteers to negotiate peace talks for all parties. The empire, despite running out of pretty much everything because of naval blockades and a shortage of manpower, isn't satisfied with the conditions and tells Fake Italy to go screw themselves. Finally the 2 generals that always smoke together realize that the empire is excellent at waging war, but are terrible at handling politics. Tanya's group gets recalled to the capital and the general's talk to her about attacking another capital city. However, when she asks which capital she is shocked to learn her own. The generals want to remind the politicians, drunk on continuous victory, that they are in fact about to lose the war, since they have exhausted all their strength. That is as far as I've gotten

@@unknownguy7112 looks like it, in the light novel I have read so far the empire is stretched to the breaking point but they keep winning so the population and most of government want keep the war going until the empire get to set the terms of peace and get paid for what they lost, makes sense empire was attacked first on all fronts. The problem is the alliance still surround them and will not settle for anything less then return to status quo or break up of the empire and with the (not) Britain choking off trade and funding the war, (not) USSR fielding the endless armies and being the empires punching bag and (not) France circling looking for way to take back their homeland, well the empire is one major loss away from defeat
