I really love the scene where Madam Yu is walking with Zidian after slaying that Wen b**ch and the boys jump from behind her and start wrecking havock. For the boys, Madam Yu is mother, cruel or kind, but they BOTH trust her implicitly to know what is right, to do what is right. There is not an inch of hesitation even in Wei Ying despite the fact that Madam Yu was pretty much beating him seconds ago and has always treated him very harshly. There is not an inch of concern or self-preservation. What she says goes, and that's it.
In the live action one, I think there was a scene of her jumping over a railing and attacking somebody but idk. But one thing I know was that my father had that scene on the tv playing, I didn't know what the show was about back then, I really liked that scene but idk if my father knew what it was... that was I few years ago. And I can't find that scene anymore...
If only couple's counselling and family's counselling was available and normalized in these kinds of shows. Such tragedy and anguish. Our Purple Spider Queen soars.
The Jiang parents death broke me. Everything abt it, how he didn't get to give her the fixed hairpiece, how they died by each other, how their last talk ended with a huge quarrel, how they never got to sit down and talk peacefully, the bg music while showing them dead I the fiery ruckus, even the after scene where jiang cheng shouted and cried his heart out with wei wuxian in the rain, the frustration. Out of all the deaths I've seen on screen that was one of the saddest for me.
Yall can hate her whatever but don't forget how she defended her son and wwx in the end fully knowing she will be risking war with a major clan and then died defending her home and family
madam yu was really cool, but i would never call her the coolest mother, she treated her children terribly (even if she didn't want to hurt them); making yanli responsible for raising two other kids, because her and jiang fengmian couldn't communicate with each other at all, and making jiang cheng so traumatized. shes definitely the most powerful female character in mdzs, but she would be so much better if she only didn't get married.
@@amelialewczuk749 Then again she really did like Jiang Fengmian, but yeah they shouldn’t have gotten married, but that would have meant that Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli would never have been born.

Zidian except Jiang fang Miang as his master is the proof that she loved and care her husband and thou she didn't like wei ying but she didn't cut his hand means she annoyingly loved wei ying too She is cruel or strict but cares for her family so much I love this lady so much ...as a superior whatever she did is absolutely right 😊😊😊😊😊
in the novel before Madam yu beats Weiying she already had a killing content towards jiao(the servant/affair of Wenchao) and even if she did beat wei ying the fact that wei ying was still able to walk just fine after a while (3 whips and a person in bed for 1 month aatleast whereas Wei ying got more than 20 something) and not to forget while evacuating JC she did not leave behind Wei ying and she commanded zidan to only open when both of them were somehwere safe she knew if she left any one of them loose they would come back.

@@authumnlilac_emethyst1818 Personally I really think YZ and JFM both were mentally abusing parents in regards to JC and WWX, most of the relashionship problems and trauma that the brothers have comes from the people that raised them. Of course we must take into consideration the culture and timeline in which the story happens but it does not means that YZ and JFM did not literally traumatized their kids to the point where their only safe spot was their sister. Imagine living in the house where the only person you can approach for emotional support is another child.

I felt sorry for Madame Yu’s husband (yes, I forgot his name, so what?), she is a powerful woman who took the throne and does not tolerate any tenderness, she raised Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng in severity. I understand that their marriage was far from out of love, but if a man fell in love, then Madame Yu could not, focusing on her own power
I will never understand how y’all see an abusive, bitter woman and call her a “queen” bc she fights well and disregard the right-in-your-face character flaws. And no she didn’t “secretly care about WWX”, she put him on the boat bc she knew JC wouldn’t survive without him, and she constantly physically and verbally abused him.

Abusive definitely but Yu Ziyuan I wouldn’t exactly call psychotic, that title is reserved for characters like Xue Yang, Wen Ruohan and Jin Guangyao. She’s definitely a bad mother but nobody is perfect
I think it's less of the fact that they *are,* it's just that most often they're the more intriguing characters, and their unpredictability makes them all the more interesting and entertaining. At least, usually. It's rare to botch characters like them --- in terms of their role, at least.
She wasn't abusive and psyhotyc at all. I've read the novel and as far as i remember she loved her family so much They demonised in the donghua but she loved her husband, son and daugther Her last act was to save her own son and Wei Wuxian (Sorry for my bad english 😅 And i know she didn't liked Wei Wuxian much but it's understable. He was better than his son. But if she would hated him she wouldn't saved his life i think But it's just my opinion maybe it's not the truth i've read it a long time ago)
