Gabriel Fauré - "Pavane Op. 50 in F-Sharp Minor". I never wondered that a soprano saxophone would be able of such beauty, sweetness, subtleness, and expressiveness. I really got emotional. It has a very smooth, blended, and warm "classical" approach played here on this soprano saxophone, so far from those sharps and harsh jazzistic sounds. This instrument was playing top line a quite conveying "cantabile", like a human voice! Thumbs up and high-five!
Can you give me an example of “harsh jazzístic sounds?” I can give countless examples of incredibly beautiful sweet and sanctified jazz performed soprano saxophone.
The very first time I ever heard this piece must have been 35 years ago when I bought Branford Marsalis' Romances for Saxophones album on cassette. I originally bought it because I loved the Debussy' Arabesque, but it was the Pavane that caught me - and captured my attention for life. I had sung a Faure vocal piece about 6 years before that but didn't really understand just how good a composer he was.
Oh bliss, bliss and heaven... Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh... And then, a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal, or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now... I knew such lovely pictures...
Amy, you are one of the most beautiful women that ever lived and so very talented. I, immensely, enjoy seeing and hearing you play. May your life always have a storybook tale of happiness.
This classical track is beautiful n the video is perfect... Amy u r stunning n something special sweetheart u have all r love n support 🎷🎺🎻🎼🎶 ... ❤️ u 💯🙏😘😘
Einfach himmlisch - sowohl akustisch als auch optisch - dankeschön für dieses Juwel! Just heavenly - acustical as well as optical - thank you for this jewel!
Amy, you have a gift within you. Not just one but many. Though I am a beginner saxophonist, I am haunted by your talent and wished that if I could practice with you and learn something from you.. May God bless you more and more.. Love your playing.
Okay I loved your rendition of Philip Glass's work so I thought I'd check out your current work. Listened to 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes', then 'La Strada', then halfway through 'Pavane' I just went to iTunes and bought your the album. Didn't need any more convincing, you have rendered many dreamy and nostalgic soundscapes for this album. Thank you.
The music is beautiful! Perfect! Flawless! I will also say that you're a beautiful woman and you can pull of this look or any other you want. Certainly, good looks are an asset to any performer, and one should make the most of it. However, this particular video is really pushing it. It really feels like the emphasis on romance in the video is almost pulling attention away from the beautiful musical performance. As good as you and the male model in this video look together, anything that pulls attention from the exceptional talent displayed in this video is really a disservice to the music. I love this piece. I love your playing, and you really do look gorgeous, but the emphasis on visual beauty is enough to distract from the music, but the visual story is such a cliche that it is difficult for the audience to accept. In essence, we have two beautiful people telling a familiar but boring story that draws focus from the actual musical perfection that should be on display.
Wow! Lovely piece of music. Beautiful lady. And cute video! I picked up a size 4 shoe, a small lady's/girl's pink pump outside St Georges Hospital more than half a year ago. It has the surname DICKSON written inside. The shoe looks clean and pristine - as if it was only used in the Hospital ward...? Amy, were you ever there? Or is this some kind of real-life Cinderella joke...? I tried to check with every Dickson I could find, in this city, but no luck...
Ohh Yeh I know, I just wanted to check your hop-hop credentials LOL!! Its one of my favorite interpretations of this wonderful piece. Fabulous playing by the way and your channel is AWESOME!!!
Belo! Todo o encanto e sensualidade na sedução do verdadeiro Amor, aquele que acontece de vontade mútua entre Homem/Mulher. Demais são alternativas que respeitamos, mas nada como o verdadeiro Amor!
Agreed. Too many of Amy's videos are turned into advert-like films with arty-farty shots than add and mean nothing. Just show her playing - take the 'F' out of fart and you get true ....
@@tomkent4656 That's what you do when you buy her recordings - maybe she just needs a black screen and audio then? Her version of the Glass violin concerto played on sax is a classic example for listening to with earphones and eyes shut. Interesting interview and demo here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b6DCDnrCnYk.html
HAHAHAHA you're right!! I was looking for "pavane" meaning which is meant for a dance in the 16th-17th century wearing elaborate clothes, and I was like what the hell is this video
