British actress Amy Jackson talks of her rise in Bollywood in India and her films to date and how she has gone from a model, to a Bollywood superstar, on the One Show this day.
@@unafraidarsanal3049 Clearly that is y i asked u to go watch Tamil movies bro. A) All boys are not dark in kollywood, heard of Aravind samy, Arya and how can i not mention Kamal hassan sir and Ajith sir. B) All girls are not pale, heard of Nivetha pethuraj, Aishwarya rajesh, Priya anand, Trisha, you know Priya mani through series, etc., and mannn Nayanthaara ....i meannnn. Go search lady super star of kollywood. End of conversation.
I love that hosts were not judgemental about her work in Bollywood. It’s also good that there were no stereotypical jokes on India and Indians. She feels proud of her work in Bollywood and that is so refreshing to see. I wish our North Indian friends can learn from this and start being a lot more inclusive and accepting. - A North Indian.
You are so right about it...hope everyone thinks like what you said but sadly there are some people who don't see her talent or even not respecting....🙁
Hat's off to this young lady...she had the guts to come to India... act in Hindi and south Indian cinema...make honest attempts to learn several Indian languages..and try embrace the culture... let's give her that much credit .. instead of being critical...
Give her the #Credit for speaking #Tamil in British channel 👏👏👏 than criticizing her... Also, I heard it right and happy to hear she said #Kannada not kannad like some fools say it here... 😯
@@crazycrackheadbubblegums9959 but what else can we do? India has a mix of dark brown, light brown and fair skinned people. We can't totally shun fair skinned people from movies right? The one thing we can do is to give all equal opportunities. South film industry is changing, but I don't see any dark or light skinned actresses in Bollywood though. Nandita Das is the only one who I can think of.
We should encourage and appreciate her efforts to embrace the indian culture. Why is there so much of hate messages.... We don't have to be racist.....Hollywood has given oppurtunities to indian actors as well....so please be open minded...Having white skin alone will not make u successful, there was definately a lot of hardwork as well.
Really why so much hatred,.. I felt good when I started video, a British working in our film industry , knowing our culture, getting our love,..but then I read comments ,and it's very disappointing
@@niteshsrivastava3122 thats exactly the point..u felt good coz a British is working in Indian films.. There r thousand other girls much better than her who deserve to be in films
Amy Jackson is brilliant actress, and a bridge between UK & TAMIL culture (re. Film industry). HATS OFF TO her. She wil be the best Hollywood actress soon.
Love this interview a great representation by Amy about Indian cinema also love the fact that the interviewer called the industry as Indian cinema instead of Bollywood 👍👍
It takes a lot of courage to move to another country and make a career. I am surprised at the lack of support from fellow Indians who are renowned for being job globe trotters. Be supportive people! We would be hurt if America treated Priyanka this way.
lol after this comment bring back ur girl to ur country .as a bollywood fan and indian movies fan .this is an insult to the people who supported her movies and the bollywood / tamil directors .we can have any pretty girl from the western countries and make her a superstar .we made katrina kaif and ur average girl amy jackson .they are just eye candies in the indian cinemas .because indians are loving white girls thats all .the whole movies are about the males in every industry in the world even hollywood .u should consider that when u talk about another country
@@niteshsrivastava3122 a class films because of she is a pretty girl .thats why any white pretty girl can do the job .she is no actress or even a good dancer .atleast katrina is a superb dancer .this girl is nothing more than an eye candy
It’s a stupid movement going on in India where you can’t praise an actor for bieng beautiful you only have to like actors who are not that good looking but can act very well. It’s this false sense of self righteous preaching that skills as primary and looks are secondary well my response than go and support the actors you like stop shitting on the pretty ones for having an easy life.
@@sorrybro136 Because BBC is portraying a wrong picture of her and that's the typical British media who would like to paint a dirty picture of India any given day but would love to cease the opportunity to present a British citizen as a Bollywood star. She isn't. Katrina Kaif, another British citizen, is. It's important to point out the difference.
Wow what an amazing story. This is what life is about. To find paths in life that we all did not imagine we would take. Life is amazing. So many opportunities to take in life if we stumble on them
@@basimmicheal4371 As much as fame is concerned maybe but in hotness she is 20 times hotter than Kat...check out her instagram to know what I am talking about.
Love you Amy... I want you to do more south Indian films with the challenging role which needs to be incredible performance ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love from INDIA 🇮🇳 (Tamil Nadu)
I love her role mainly in ''Madrasapatinam'' 😍 though I am telugu ,, I love that movie soo much,,I am a die hard fan...Mainly Amy, Arya both did really well..Amy is really a gud actress.
2.0 IS NOT A BOLLYWOOD MOVIE, DO NOT GENERALIZE ALL INDIAN MOVIE INDUSTRIES, OUR MOVIE INDUSTRIES ARE AS MUCH DIVERSE AS WE ARE. THESE ANCHORS DIDN'T DONE THEIR HOMEWORK . 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Chitra Ram TRUE FACT .. 2.0 had some Technical logic , these Bollywood ppl doesn’t make movies with sense and logic.. Race 3 , Never watched the movie nor have any self patience to watch but seen loads of Memes on t 😹😹
wow so she was only 17 when she did Madrasipattanam Movie? that is so shocking to me and amazing for her...she looked well matured yet a simple, shy British girl in that movie.
Love from kannadigas, karnataka state india.u have done only one kannada film but still you remember that kannada movie.u r really great lady ,very down to earth person.all the best for your Hollywood project.many of the Bollywood heroines are ungrateful to the south indian industry.but being British u still remember south indian industry.u r simply great Amy jackson
she at least attempt/ took the time to learn and speak the language in British national television.... give her some credit.. Indian fans are just awful... only good in criticising..
Pooja Chimata No you are wrong . She was selected to play a Britisher who falls for a native in her first movie “ Madras Pattinam” and she was a perfect fit
Pooja Chimata Stop feeling insecure. Bollywood is open for all. Its not indian only. If it was then dont go abroad to shoot, stay in india and use only indian actors and dancers stop using white background dancers that you have dome through out the 00s and still do.
The language? There is more than one language in India- plus it was slang Tamil phrase. What about all the Indians who can speak English? Do they ever get a round of applause from bbc white folks?
Yes... Its a slang tamil words (but she said it with accent though) predominantly spoken in North Madras. Its mixed with words originally from different languages like dutch, Portuguese etc. Mostly colloquial.
Holy crap!!! I used to watch her movies thinking she's born South Indian in the past few years😂😂😂 Her movie 'I' really got my attention, she's beautiful ❣️
Wow yall in the comments here can shove it unless you're tamil. We brought Amy, she's sweet and down to earth and out there speaking our language, going home to her people. Our industry has actors with dark skin more than most of y'all, this movie itself is an example, ranjini is dark and I didnt see y'all screaming about being obsessed with white skin tone, when Aishwarya was in the movie. If you're gonna talk about skintones do it under every Indian actress' video, most of them have light complexion, don't come for Amy alone.
She is humble, grateful and definitely will go a long way. I remember Radhika apte in one of the interviews to some North Indian channel mentioned that acting in South Indian movie was the bizarre thing she has done - so cheap and ungrateful. Rajkumar Rao who was sitting next didn't react to her statement. Amy is far better and talented and did a good job in 2.0 and was gorgeous as well.
People say pretty actresses do favours for producers to get cast and the fanboys believe Radhika Apte is casted for her talent and never did anything wrong cmon look at her face and now imagine how many favours she had to do get roles also onscreen she does so many sex scenes in flop movies like parched but fanboys have objections when Sunny leone does the same thing and makes money.
The manner in which the two BBC presenters have presented the show and interviewed Amy is that they cannot accept that Amy has adapted to Indian culture and Indian filmi making, the presenters like many other people in the west think and feel that everything revolves around the west
@@VijayThakurMDyes the part first was somewhat good...but ...people make it a flop...now. Rajni sir make the story shit in part 2 and people had made it super duper hit It's only indian audience😎😎
Its funny how she might or might not be talented as an actress but because of her western beauty and white skin, which indians will literally sell thier soul for btw, they will make sure she remains a star. Sad how my own country is so racist towards deeper and darker skin tones that they need a pale british women to play the role of an indian women. She will never know what it means to be an indian women but I do admire her trying to learn the culture. According to the western stereotype of beauty she fits that image perfectly. Indian culture love western beauty and so its a match. There are many indian women that are beyond beautiful. In America dark indian women are seen as so beautiful and exotic, and many are in modeling and such. In india they are not seen as beautiful because of their skin color. I guess we all want what we dont have but we cant appreciate what we do have. All women are beautiful but we need to at least stop being biased over a skin color.
I feel like u are being very hateful towards her firstly she is talented she's not bad at all and she is not even a big star in india noone is selling their soul for her just coz she is white she started acting and modelling really young and was chosen for movies coz she was beautiful and talented and not just coz she was white a lot of foreign actresses as well as indian actresses are cast in Indian actresses are also fair there is no racism in that u ppl are just being sensitive and putting a hardworking woman down and defaming a country which is just trying to accept foreign talent casting her as a tamil girl is just an experiment why bring racism in that pl don't be so mean and judgemental we aren't ignoring Indian actresses just coz she is British or fair at all 🙏🏻
@@hsd287 I respect your opinion but there are strippers who are hardworking and beautiful and to me your reply didn't even make sense. Try making it simple next time. It's just a fact bollywood is always looking for white almost pale skinned females. Color racism is so real india. It's just sad that bollywood can't see how beautiful dark skin and dark males/females are. She is a boring actress. Real talent goes a long way.
nomad traveller in bollywood Deepika Padukone , Katrina Kaif (half indian) Alia Bhatt , Anushka Sharma etc Indian actress are very famous as because they are traditionally beutiful . She is famous in south not in North , North Indian are pretty racist.
