Than you for sharing this story. I too decided to cut my very long natural red hair and donate it to locks of love so that someone else might benefit from my possible hair loss. It was a decision that gave me great joy to do one thing that I could control during my cancer treatment.
One of my best friends got diagnosed with breast cancer. She survived, and got a punkie half-hawk cut. She looks so awesome. Even though she's still ill, she OWNS it. _(hugs)_ to all those strong women who are so brave.
When I cut my hair I wasn't emotional. I didn't care, and guess what? It grew back fast because hair grows back. To the people who have cancer don't worry when you beat the cancer it'll come back just don't think about it.
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and my chemo treatment is starting next week. I am scared, nervous and know I will beat it. I am contemplating cutting my hair as it is half way down my back
Amy's strength is amazing, and she is so professional in every way. Frankly, I like her hair much better short than long - it emphasizes her beautiful eyes and makes her look even younger. Robin mentioned women who refuse treatment because they don't want hair lose -- that's so short-sighted. Hair grows and grows back!
My sister in law has leukemia, when she told me I told her if you you hair falls off I’m cutting all my hair too!! In 2010 I found out I had breast cancer!! I’m a survivor!! In support or her next week I’m cutting it!!!At work some of my co worker’s said don’t cut it, and some are supported me. Amy Good luck in your treatment and you got this, my cancer sister 😘🙏💕🌸🎀
Amy you rock and keep the faith and stay mad at this cancer don't allow it to over come you it worked for me . Please note doctors don't tell all the chemo will continue to work well after they are done so keep active for your joints and God Bless you
In the 20/20 episode about the Sleepwalker case in Az. Robach was able to get a rare interview with an Arizona convict and decided to ask some of the most silly and ridiculous questions I ever heard a professional journalist ask a human being. Wonder why 20/20 producers can't replace her with someone more competent.
She proves beautiful people always stay beautiful. She might have lost a little, but so is life one minute you have it, the next you don't, the right perspective will always carry you through. So congratulations, through it all some people have so much more then most, including me.
I've always thought Amy looked so powerful and strong with her hair style short. Knowing she cut it because of chemo, resonates her power and strength.
Breast cancer Here! I did the same thing. I donated it to "Locks of Love" for children. It was cool because I had very long hair and having fun with it cutting it real short and sexy. I actually am in limbo because I took my hair off before the Chemo so now it's grown out a bit. I started my first Chemo last week felt a bit under the weather and yuky but it may get worse before it gets better. I will RU-vid my hair shave But it will be at home family fun time with my head. I will do the first shave not to traumatize my family LOL then have them join in! One down 7 more to go. Yay
Amy you look awesome. Changing your appearance only effects what people want to see it's whats inside of you that makes you who you are. Stay strong and finish the fight. My family is praying for you and your family.
Just curious. How tall is TJH? And Robach’s? Google says his is 5’7” and she is 5’5”. But the height difference between them from the photos is at least 5 inches with TJH being the taller. And that too with her on 5 inch heels. So either he is 6’3” or he is 5’7” and she is only 5 feet.
The don’t usually post negatively but all I can mutter out is......*rolling my eyes* Im glad she beat cancer and all that and it’s a tremendous accomplishment but getting to the hair and the looks and all that superficial crap really put a damper on the whole situation. It’s a turn off over such a blessing.
She is doing pretty good today, for what I have seen. She did an interview with Ryan Goslin a few months ago, and she was very flirtatious. So, I hope that means she is good.
I've seen two people cut their hair like that before chemo and wondered how basically a bob was going to cover up any hair loss. I guess it gives her a step to get used to before it gets worse. My mother started with much shorter hair and the loss was still very noticeable.
Your strength is wonder. I had my second chemo round today and it's been very hard. Two days ago my long stands were in my brush and I lost it. More and more long strands and this morning I had a melt down. I don't think I've ever cried so hard. I went to my chemo appointment and when I got home I cut my hair. Yes I was in control. Now little strands of hair might not be as emotional. I hope the best is in the future .
Taking control would be to take it all off, before you start chemo. It is a tough decision, but it is far better to do it before and not go through seeing it fall out. The good news? It grows back.
***** losing "some of it" is just as bad, if not worse than losing every last strand. I'm talking about taking control so you don't even have to see that. It grows back.
ajd6999 Yes, thinning is losing hair. The entire process of it thinning is energy zapping. To take control and prevent that, shaving is the way to go to avoid going through it. If you beat cancer.....hair will grow back! Hope your mom is doing well.
Yes I know thinning is losing hair. My point is she didn't lose so much that she actually needed to shave it all off. Maybe some people feel that gradually cutting their hair a bit at a time makes the process a little easier for them. Rather than doing it all at once.
ajd6999 I'm talking about taking control BEFORE it could happen...... not waiting for it to "maybe or maybe not" happen. Perhaps you don't understand what I mean by taking control and letting such a thing as hair be important to you while you are fighting for your life.
Will Ginger get cancer next? I'm all for celebrating their journeys but they make such a big deal over Robin walking a few blocks or something like that.
