Entertaining & highly informative...loved every second of this video. Came in exhausted from my taxidermy shop. After watching...I'm ready to go back at it😂
I'm SUBSCRIBED. I did my first mount (a muskrat) when I was ten and continued over many years........I'm now 66. Nice to see two professional taxidermist discussing your craft.
Awesome video, as a new taxidermist it is good to see videos like this. I really enjoyed listening to you all discuss the different forms you all like and the ones you didn’t like. This will help me in the future making decisions for forms to better suit my customers.
Super interesting being a "fly on the wall" for shop talk! Especially as I'm in the UK and taxidermy culture is pretty different here. I'm so envious of all your big game and taxidermy suppliers!
It's always interesting to me to see someone else's favorite way of doing things. It really shows you the options that are available to utilize your own strengths!
That’s awesome you went to visit her and see her shop. Nice lady that does amazing work. She is just over a hour from me and she will be mounting a shoulder mount of my 2022 September 10th 120 class NC archery buck.
Hello, just saw your RU-vid video. I've been doing taxidermy for many years and appreciate what you do.Great looking shop.Great looking mounts.Happy New Year. Nick
Reference, reference, study reference period!!!!!! Reference!!!! You can have technique and artistic talent. But you also have to understand anatomy. You have to study reference. She does her homework. Awesome work!
I loved the video! Did you say you had some old mounting stands that you don’t use anymore? I would love to buy one from you if you do! Keep up the great videos!
I do have a couple, but rather than use them for mounting, I still use them for drying on the warmer days and months. I'll drag them outside and face the deer into the sun lol
@@thecedarridgechronicles Awesome! Great idea! Thanks again for your incredible channel. I am starting my first mule deer on Monday using a lot of your advise and techniques. I will keep you updated on my progress!
I’m an artist and I am trying to maybe do a photo taxidermy lien rogue, but I am having trouble finding good for you. Be able to recommend some where I can find it?
I started taxidermy in 2011 This chick Amy is Bad a$$ she has to be the most documented taxidermist + she's been making money off taxidermy sence she was young is a mother and entrepreneur...would be crazy to actually meet her at a show some day...
Yeah started at 13 with road kill. It was awesome to talk to her in person. Her knowledge of taxidermy and animal anatomy is amazing but to listen to her talk about the science and chemistry of it all is incredible. I didn't show the entire conversation because I wanted to reserve a lot of the information for her in her new channel.
@@thecedarridgechronicles good I'm glad she's starting one she never post on RU-vid yeah I definitely look forward to meeting her one day she has changed alot last thing I seen her in was a bigfoot taxidermy documentary I'm watching then theirs Amy lol..I attended my first world show back earlier in the year..
I have witnessed one taxidermist bring in a bluegill that was done by another taxidermist. Entered into a show, won 1st in professional division and used it in his online photo gallery and bragging rights. J&K
@The Cedar Ridge Chronicles ok cool as long as you realize it and maybe called her back and said you didn't realize you were doing it and not any of my buisness but that's what I would do 🤷♂️
Well we actually stay in touch discussing content on the phone and were doing so before I ever came and did the video, so it wasn't quite as bad as it looks on a personal level, but I also edited out a lot of the conversation because I was actually there to talk to her off camera about starting on RU-vid so when she would bring up talking points that would be good for her own content, I edited them out so she could put it in her own videos for her benefit. That made it even sound a little more like me telling points rather than her because of her time I cut out. If you watch the video I made at Ben Mears' shop I talked a lot less after watching the visit with Amy. No one realizes what they do that is annoying until they video themselves and watch it back. It sure doesn't come out the way it does in your own head! Everyone should make content and listen to themselves. I think it would resolve all kinds of issues lol
Look I think your content is great and I love that you were helping her ,but you were still talking over her alot ..PERIOD... I could care less either way I was just bringing it up so you could better yourself, I'd want someone to do the same for me. I wasn't trying to be a prick I was just being honest. Keep up the good work and I hope her channel takes off as well as yours.
Glad to see young people interested in doing it. It is fun but don't burn yourself out. I did so many mounts that I finally burnt myself out. I can't even bring myself to do my own anymore. After 20 plus years I just had enough. I think a lot of it I just didn't make that good of money at it. Looking back I should have charged more but people in my area just didn't have the money.
