And she probably would've wrote and produced for other artists as well since she was such an amazing poet in her writing. She definitely would've also won herself a few more Grammy awards too. Honestly, maybe the current landscape of music would've been so much different now if she was still here. Amy Winehouse was truly a beautiful talent that passed away too soon. This song is a gem. Maybe Amy didn't like it because she is singing about nothing...about how she has to go record, but has no ideas about it. She could've sang about a used toothpick and it would have been interesting. As her loyal fan for a few years now, after her passing I searched all over to find different and "new" songs. This is by far one of my favorites. I wonder if she really knew what a truly gifted an artist she was.

Amy's talent can't be touched. She wrote poetic lyrics, great musician (played guitar), with strong jazz roots. I'm listening to all of her music now--wish I had earlier. The only singer in the last twenty years who comes close in style is Mary J. Blige--their tones are similar, but Amy was way more developed. Genius, really. Check out "In My Bed" to see her early work, and "Teach Me Tonight" when she was maybe 19. You'll be stunned.

it takes quite a genius to authentically deliver more than one genre of music; she did jazz and soul equally well without compromise. among musicians, she is considered the cream of the cream.
I really like to read the comments about her. Those ones before she died. 9-10 years ago. They kinda make me truly believe that she is still alive, but anyway her music makes her being alive, at least in our souls for sure.

After hearing the odd clip in odd places and deciding that she wasn't my cup of tea I decided to spend several hours on youtube to discover why she was touted as a real talent by so many greats. It was time well spent. I've never been big on jazz for the most part but ignoring genres and addressing the individual I am happy to say that I now know why Amy Winehouse was one of the best. I thought this song was one of her most interesting and approachable numbers and a great sample of her music.

She's said in interviews that she hated using fake instruments, and alot of these are fake, that's likely part of it. Her friend, Tyler James (also a singer) has this same song on his (i think) debut album, it could also be possible that she didn't want to take his thunder or overshadow him with his own song? I mean, I think it's his. I feel like Amy wrote it though.
