Why do people get mad when a cover is not as good as the original. Its a cover. Of course Amy does it better, but Jess is a great singer and does not do bad. Its a tribute. RIP Amy

When Amy sings her lyrics, they reveal her truth and her pain. I think that's why no one really covers her songs well or rather there is always something lacking when others sing them. No one else knows her pain like she does.
Man, it's like no one can have an opinion these days if it conflicts with someone else's. It's as if folk can't hear another's views and simply see it as another's 'interesting perspective!' Instead, the response is quite often vitriol and angst as seems the case here. Xiadz, one could just as well ask, in response to YOUR point, 'How do you know that this is NOT the case?'

This is probably the best cover I've ever heard of Amy and I still can't enjoy it because I think it only makes sense when it's Amy who sings her own songs.

It´s pretty clear no one can sound like Amy, that´s why other singers are here, because of (great) differences, what makes music such a thing. I appreciate amazing voice of Jess, such a great talent! Also, my idol was Amy, but there is no place to compare performances, that´s not a point of covers! :)

I don't think anyone can pull of an Amy winehouse song like Amy winehouse. Any artist would know that. Amy added such soul and emotional depth to all of her songs. But I think covers are really nice, especially this one it's really good, it honours her memory and makes people who may have been too prejudiced or caught up in her reputation to give her music a chance to appreciate what an incredible lyricist she was, vocally and lyrically she is and always will be a legend up there with Ella Fitzgerald, Dina Washington and Sarah Vaughn. I really do think after her death all the scandals have been forgotten and her lifelong wish has come true. That is, she will always be remembered for her music and the scandals an afterthought.
I prefer Amy, she has a good voice and she also put her heart and soul into the music. But this is proved that only good voice cannot make a good song. And I mean to every one who made covers.
