Fascinating to see you use a macédoine technique on those apples. Personally, I prefer more of a brunoise cut but to each their own! Marvelous.

I would have put the apples in a dutch oven until they were glossy and nearly caramelized. Then stir in the nutmeg and cinnamon before you put it on the bread slice.

This is the best thing ever. Might be biased cuz I used to make frozen Cool-whip sandwiches (on Wonder Bread, of course) when I was a kid,. They were delicious. Sure wish I'd known about crapple pie, though. Better late than never!
