Anıtkabir'de hergün defalarca tekrarlanan nöbet değişimi. Askerler sıcak soğuk demeden kıpırdamadan nöbet tutuyorlar. Tabi bu son derece yorucu bir iş. Anıtkabir, Türkiye'nin başkenti Ankara'nın Çankaya ilçesinde Beştepe semtinde yer alan Atatürk'ün anıt mezarını içeren komplekstir. 1944'te başlanan inşası 1953'te tamamlanmıştır. Tasarımını Emin Onat ile Orhan Arda'nın yaptığı kompleks, anıt mezar binası başta olmak üzere onun yanında çeşitli yapılar ve anıtların yanında Barış Parkı olarak adlandırılan ağaçlık alandan oluşmaktadır. Çok sayıda ve çeşitte ağaç bulunmaktadır.
Atatürk'ün 10 Kasım 1938'deki ölümünün ardından naaşı Ankara Etnografya Müzesi'nde kaldırıldı. Anıtkabir inşaası tamamlanıncaya kadar Atatürkün naaşı orada kalmıştır. 10 Kasım 1953 günü yapılan bir tören ile Mustafa Kemal Atatürk'ün naaşı Anıtkabire nakledilmiştir. O tarihte itibaren Anıtkabir Atatürk'ün ebedi istirahatğahı olmuştur.
Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri Genelkurmay Başkanlığına Anıtkabir'deki tüm hizmet ve işlerin sorumluluğu üklenmiştir burada yapılacak bütün tören ve her türlü etkinlik kanunla düzenlenmiştir.

Anıtkabir is a complex that includes the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, located in the Çankaya district of Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. The construction of the building complex, designed by Emin Onat and Orhan Arda, started in 1944 and was completed in 1953. The complex consists of various structures and monuments, especially the mausoleum, as well as a wooded area called Peace Park.
After Atatürk's death on November 10, 1938, it was announced that his body would remain in the Ankara Ethnography Museum until a mausoleum was built in Ankara. In a ceremony held on November 10, 1953, Atatürk's body was transferred here. Cemal Gürsel, who was buried in 1966 in Anıtkabir, where İsmet İnönü's grave is located since 1973, and eleven people who were buried between 1960-1963, were removed from Anıtkabir in 1988.
While there is a symbolic sarcophagus of Atatürk in the part called Hall of Honor of the mausoleum building, which is the main building in the complex, Atatürk's body was buried in the burial chamber on the lower floor of this building. The entrance to the complex is made from the beginning of the allele called the Lion Road, and this road leads to a rectangular square where ceremonies are held. While the mausoleum is located on one side of this area surrounded by porticoes, there is the exit part of the complex on the other side of the square in the direction of Aslanlı Yolu. There are ten towers, two sculpture groups and the Atatürk and War of Independence Museum in the complex, including the four corners of the Lion Road, the exit of the ceremonial square and the corners of the square. All these structures, called the Monument Block, are surrounded by a wooded area called Peace Park. Different types of marble and travertine were used on the surfaces and floors of the buildings in the complex, where the buildings are reinforced concrete. Mausoleum; It includes decorations created with relief, mosaic, fresco and carving technique. The building, which is neoclassical in the style of the Second National Architectural Movement, carries traces of the Hittite, Greek, Seljuk and Ottoman cultures that have ruled throughout the history in the territory of today's Turkey.
The responsibility of all services and works in Anıtkabir belongs to the Turkish Armed Forces General Staff, and the activities to be held here are regulated by a law. Official commemoration ceremonies are held in Anıtkabir by the government on the days of national holidays in Turkey and the anniversary of Atatürk's death on November 10. Apart from these, ceremonies are also organized by persons included in the state protocol and representatives of other real and legal persons. Anıtkabir is a place where foreign government officials visit from time to time during their official visits to Turkey and where official ceremonies are held.
