Could not stop smiling listening to Ed. He's such a pleasure on the ears and a great storyteller. His students are very lucky!

At the very end Ed said he congratulated a cricketer on the Centenary Test and the man was ''bowled over!'' Inadvertently being funny.

I'm not a fan of "watching" a youtube video which has only audio. Listening to Professor Copeland is the exception though, I can never get enough of listening to him.

You can get it as a podcast too you know
@AmmoBoks
@AmmoBoks Год назад
@@subjectline Why would I want to do that? In this time and age, I want to see people talking and interacting instead of only listening.

No being constrained by video allows the audio to be edited in an optimal way, to make lots of micro-improvements - an advantage of the podcast format... And this is first and foremost part of a podcast series... Will continue making long form interviews with Ed too though - seen these? bit.ly/CopelandGoesLong

@@numberphile2 More long form interviews with Ed would be much appreciated, thank you! And yes, I've seen the other ones. 😀

17:57 - Oh, this is fun, but a little silly. Situations like that Oxford exam not only reflect "your real quality," but also just what you "happen to know at the time." You just didn't have the necessary knowledge to do well on the test at that time - it says very little about "you" per se.

Find a positive integer k between n and 2n such that 2(k-n) is a product of two consecutive positive integers. NB: n is a positive integer
@rmsgrey
@rmsgrey Год назад
Can k=2n? or does it have to be n
@Johnpatrickbrithon6109
@Johnpatrickbrithon6109 Год назад
@@rmsgrey it hav to be n2n
@rmsgrey
@rmsgrey Год назад
@@Johnpatrickbrithon6109 In which case it's impossible for n=1 since there are no integers between 1 and 2. For any other n, k=n+1 gives 2(k-n) = 2( n+1 -n) = 2 (1) which is the product of two consecutive positive integers as required.

Really should be an D-Class Reject - He almost failed at being rejected The A-Class Rejects failed spectacularly The F-Class Rejects were accepted - They failed at being rejected

The podcast is made primarily as an audio format and put on RU-vid as a bonus. As such it is very highly edited. Like hundreds and hundreds of tiny cuts and snippets. That makes video impossible.
