An Actual SCARY RE1 Mod - Resident Evil Containment Episode 2 

I agree, it's more fun to watch or play these unique mods with changes that breath new life and engagement from the game and give you a glimpse on new ideas. I'm sure some people like the difficulty mods but I, personally, don't get much enjoyment out of watching some unfun, super difficult mod where you have to fight against impossible odds with 3 bullets and a knife.

Not a fan. Too many that have no light on the other side have the light under and some with lights don’t…

I think it does a good job of showing where doors are in the darkness. I'd rather have a bit of immersion breaking light on one side that isn't on the other than wander for hours not knowing that there's a door somewhere

Definitely would've been a nice touch. Especially in exceptionally DARK segments with no other visual aids and pray you have enough spare ammo to pop off a few shots to see where you're going

The only weakness they sometimes have is the varying levels of genre literacy and of logicality involved. The design of this mod is crazy awesome platform pushing stuff but I have a hard time with immersion in the writing where the prot is a civilian in a military skin the way he talks behaves it takes a little of the “grey man” out of HUNK too. Still the best concept realized since the original game not taking nothing from it I do think Capcom should hire this guy or at least pay him a consultants’ fee

@@jamesquiggins it’s definitely not canon, but he asked if it takes place before or after the events of RE1 and technically it’s before as it simply couldn’t be after. It messes with the continuity though no doubt. I looked at it as a reimagining of the events taking place immediately after the initial outbreak at the mansion.

@@Alotofnades I would say in the reimagining there is no events of the first game. The cave is collapsed in its entirety.

Adds to the survival horror aspect.

@@1roundleft821 Im a game designer and darkness adds to horror in combination with atmospheric lighting. It just being too dark to see literally anything half the mod is bad design and it could have been substantially improved just by handling the lighting better.

@@jerensteinbear yeah I hear you, it is dark as shit.. but it does add a realistic effect to the game. Might suck that you can't see, but if the power was cut out in a zombie apocalypse that's some of the settings you'd be trying to survive in.
