What Wooyoung was saying in his clip of him saying his name is that the proper pronunciation of "Wooyoung, would be Oohyoung." The W isn't pronounced in Woo, romanization is partly pronunciation and half aesthetic lol. Woozi from Seventeen, 'Ooji' Jungwoo from NCT 'Jungooh.' also 'z' in korean is pronunciation as an J, because there is no Z. like Zuho from SF9, his real name is Juho and they're both pronounced the same way lol. Unless they choose to say the american english pronunciation of Z as 'Zee' then its' J-sound. G & K's can also be difficult because Mingi and Minki are both the same romanization of the same name in Korean but people think the "K' is pronounced like a ... Well K. Sometimes it is, but sometimes it's not! Depends lol It's pronounced like a G. MIN-GI. like YOONKI pronounced YOON-Gi. that's why he was saying "Minki, Mingi, Minki Mingi."

I've been part of their fandom for less than a month & amazing is a word we as kpop fans use very often but I think Ateez is amazing in a different way. I realize their performances, specially stage presence is comparable with 5+ groups who already debuted.

So if it helps, cause I struggle with this too, in korean they don’t pronounce the W sound, in most cases the w is silent so for wooyoung, it’s “ooyoung” not “woo”. Does that make sense? And for Mingi. It’s more like minki but it’s not a hard k sound it’s like in between k/g sound.

And when I was first getting into them I thought it was really cool that my name was part of the fandom name aka ateez + destiny so they hold a special place in my heart.
