Lānaʻi City was created in the early 1900s when the pineapple production was booming. The town is located in the central part of the island. In the middle of Lānaʻi City you will find the Dole Park. It has a rectangular shape and you have small stores and other businesses all around it. Lānaʻi City's population is in the 3,000 range. There is also a gas station in town where they have two gas pumps.

Really appreciated your walkabout in Lanai city pointing out all the shops. Lovely setting amongst the cook pines. Interesting that it is cloudy each day.

Aloha. I’m guessing this video was in the beginning on the year. Cafe 565 is no longer in business. It’s now called Ganotisi. But things rarely change on the island. To clear up the trees. The trees in town is called cook island pine. It’s slim and tall in structure. There is one Norfolk pine in the city and that’s up at Kōele hotel.

Your content is always pretty good. Same for video/quality/presentation. I dunno why you don't have lots of subscribers. The algorithm/cen--ship/etc. might be hampering you.

This video is not an accurate description of Lanai and Lanai City. He did not even try to drive up the hill or down the hill to the other parts of Lanai City, but just went in circles and taking a guess at what he was seeing. The Swedish guy should spend more time to investigate what the buildings are and not excusing them for something to do with pineapple. Pineapple was shut down 30 plus years ago and just because you do not see lines of people going in and out of a bank, doesn't mean that it is not in use.

@@SwedishVideoGuy Aloha Bruddah. Unfortunately Cook and Norfolk pines are not the same. Identical leaves, different trunk. Mahalo for the video. Lived there for over thirteen years. Glad to see it hasn’t changed much, most peaceful time of my life. Never locked my house or truck. Great fishing and diving too!

@@SwedishVideoGuy You missed a real coffee shop about a block back from the park. The churches are from the missionary days. Just curious how much gas is there now?

@@SwedishVideoGuy Aloha, and appreciate the response. It was $5+ when I left in ‘08. Did you know it’s subsidized?

You don’t know if they show movies at the theatre? Why not go have a look? Why not tell us about the menu at Blue Ginger? They have good chicken cutlets, and Portuguese sausage and eggs for breakfast). You also completely missed the beautiful Mike Carroll Gallery. What the hell? No mention of Pele’s Other Garden for pizza and other bites. What about the museum? Why not show it? It’s charming. Why not show the Hotel Lana’i in town?! You didn’t mention the beautiful beach or the Manele Golf Course or the free golf course in town. I enjoy your approach but there is almost no useful information!
